Winbind/Samba Setup on RHEL 4
I've been through Samba 3 HOWTO and the RedHat Knowledge Base, and can't quite
get everything going with winbind and Samba. Redhat is RHEL Version 3, update
2 (Version 3.0.9-1.3E.5, per RPM); Domain controller is running in "Mixed" mode.

plotting points with two colors
Dear Miss R,
I am trying to plot a scatterplot in which the points (round) should
have two colors: half red and half blue (if you want: two half solid circles

mapping of colornames into hsv: half way done
Ok,
now we have the mapping of color names to color codes (see below) and
conversion to rgb (something like Ben Bolker's function), but how to convert
rgb to hsv?

Samba - CPU and memory usage - Proposed solution(?)
Hello,
Solution developed against samba 2.2.22. Didn't and do not have the
opportunity to test samba 3.0.0.
At the time I was working as a technical architect for Tellas, the 2nd
largest Telcom in Greece. We used large billing and CRM systems (Geneva,
Siebel). Filesystem and Database were hosted on Solaris SF68000 servers (4-6
CPUs/domain). Therefore, we used samba on the Unix servers.

To simplify, suppose I have 2 observations each day for three days. I
would like to define the correlation structure of these 6 observations

Wish for arima function: add a data argument and a formula-type for regressors
Hi,
Using arima on data that are in a data frame, especially when adding
xreg, would be much easier if the arima function contained
1) a "data=" argument
2) the possibility to include the covariate(s) in a formula style.
Ideally the call could be something like

scatter3d() model.summary coefficients?
Hello All,
I am a R newbie and am probably misinterpreting something really
obvious...
In the Rcmdr package there is a scatter3d() function that can fit a
curve and also provide coefficients for the model. If I'm understanding
this right, I think it's calling the lower level stats package function
lm(), which is the part that actually does the curve fitting.

Inconsistent Authentication Results on Different Servers
We have several RedHat Enterprise Linux version 4 servers (running the
distributed Samba). Windbind/nsswitch is set up to point to W2K server
running in Mixed Mode. (smb.conf from the one *working* server follows, below).
wbinfo/getent get proper results when run from the Linux command line (i.e.,
listing everyone in both local Linux /etc/passwd and everyone in the Domain,

R equivalent to Fortran, GAUSS, or Perl's "goto"
Does R have something equivalent to the "goto" in Perl?
If so, can you please tell me what it is? I cannot find
it in the Ref Manual or the Language Manual.

plotting several datasets with different scales into same plot
Dear Miss R,
I wish to plot three datasets on completely different scales into one
single plot. Until now I use a complicated procedure, converting the data of
the second and third set into coordinates of the first plot and then adding
an extra axis. Is there a way to do this more simply...?
