Wrong battery.date variable value [APC, usbhid-ups]

I think we're on the same page for the battery date. What about the date of manufacture for the UPS - does 2012 seem reasonable?

NUT messes up UPS after mains power is restored
Hi Charles,
Ok. I'm testing NUT now with only pfsense running as the master and no slaves. I'm noticing a very strange behavior that totally doesn't make sense to me. So here's what I did (in chronological order):
1. Set override.battery.charge.warning to 55 and override.battery.charge.low to 50.
2. I started with a full charge battery and unplugged the UPS from the mains.

Wrong battery.date variable value
Hi,
I installed apcupsd through pfsense and noticed some discrepancy with the
NUT package. I'm not sure if this is a bug regarding the BATTDATE (apcupsd)
and battery.date (NUT) but BATTDATE shows the correct date of 2016/05/11.
While NUT shows the battery.date as 2001/09/25 which doesn't make sense. Any
ideas?

NUT messes up UPS after mains power is restored
UPDATE:
I think I know what I did wrong. In step 7, I plugged the mains too early causing a power race condition as described by point #51 here<https://networkupstools.org/docs/FAQ.html> . I thought that when APC BR1500GI's display went black (even with the fans still running) it is already in a shutdown state. This was not the case, it waited for a few more seconds until it totally

apcupsd
Anyone else around using apcupsd? I seem to be seeing a problem, and I'd
like someone to check me on it: I edit /etc/apcupsd/apccontrol to replace
the value of SHUTDOWN from /sbin/shutdown to /bin/false (we don't want 3
or 6 servers shutting down over a 2 second or so blip, which it really
wants to do).
What's happened is that a machine shut down the other day, and looking at
it, I

Issue with apcupsd-ups?
Hello;I just came across NUT, testing FreeNAS/FreeBSD. I?m running at home a APC UPS connected to another computer, running apcupsd.
I found out that NUT didn't talk by default to apcupsd, and there was a driver created relatively recently (apcupsd-ups), which filled in that gap.
The version I found on my FreeBSD/FreeNAS system seems to imply that there is more to come to that driver (0.04)

OT: really dumb question about APC UPS
We have about 4 servers connected to an APC UPS. The UPS only has one
UPS connection. So my question is, in a power outage how do i get all
my servers to safely shutdown? Do i run a USB hub? Do i write a script
on the one machine connected to turn off all the other machines? I'm
confused.

Centos & UPS
Hello,
I received for X-mas an APC UPS system form my computer. I'm looking for how
I can integrate it into the system so that the system will shut down either
after the UPS power is low enough or a timed event after the power is out
will automatically shutdown. Would also like it to be smart enough to stop
the shut down process if power is restored before the shutdown starts.
Anyone

apcupsd, odd behavior
As we have every day, we had a power blip overnight. one, at least, of the
servers connected to a SmartUPS via cable, announced that "power
exhausted, initiating shutdown" (which I've disabled).
The thing is, I know the servers on that UPS draw a ridiculous amount of
power, but I don't see that on the others... and this was three seconds,
not minutes, after it announced there

Feature Request: APCUPSD Support
Hi,
We use Nexenta which has recently implemented a UPS plugin using NUT
code. The one problem is that it can't look at APCUPSD servers for APC
information. We have a UPS per a rack and a APCUPSD server per a UPS.
Without this functionality, we would have to be directly connected to
the UPS's for our SAN and we can't do that. Do you have a workaround or
something we can do

(a) WinPower RPM available? (b) where to install if use tar.gz file?
Two quick and simple questions; I want to install the "WinPower"
software for my new UPS. On their web site, they have a tar.gz file
available for download. I know the reasons for staying with RPM, if at
all possible. I''ve Googled and Yahood for ""WinPower"+RPM+Linux and
get hits, but no obvious RPM. I tried "yum install winpower" and the
response was
