Timer doesn't appear to start
The time and upssched-cmd are now working.
Here are the issues I had:
1) Did not define NOTIFYCMD in upsmon.conf Added NOTIFYCMD /sbin/upssched
2) Added +EXEC to NOTIFYMSG rules I am using
3) Change ownership of upssched.conf to my nut user nutmom. I had added
nutmon to the group nut but it didn't work.
Thanks again for all your guidance

Timer doesn't appear to start
I have a Raspberry PI that I have connected to a Deltec UPS via serial
(upscode2 driver). I had an older version of Rasbian running. The nut
configuration worked fine but I had mail issues I couldn't resolve when
gmail changed how it handled MTAs. Plus it was running an old version of
Deb that is no longer supported. It was broken enough I could not upgrade
to a never version so I started from

Timer doesn't appear to start
I only pasted a subset of my upsmon.conf. NOTIFYCMD is in my upsmon.conf
AFA nutmon user. I was trying different things I had the directory as
nutmon nut but changed it to nutmon nutmon to see if that worked. It didn't
make a difference.
Sorry about the digest this. I needed to hit a line in gmail web client to
see the subject line. Know I know. Thanks for the heads up..

Shutdown script does not trigger
Dear nut users,
I am fighting to configure a smooth server shutdown with an ubuntu
server and a dell usb ups using nut.
It seems that the drivers connect properly (upsc gives very coherent
outputs).
However I can't get anything to happen when the ups goes on battery.
How can I be sure the the UPS status is really monitored ?
Is there a particular log file where I upsmon reports problems

Deltec PRA1500 UPS and FC4
I recently bought new batteries for this old "Compaq"
Deltec PRA 1500 ups and downloaded LanSafe3 and
haven't had much luck communicating with the UPS via a
serial cable. Does anyone out there have a manual on
this UPS? Or has anyone else gotten this to work with
LanSafe3 and/or upsd?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Master privileges unavailable on UPS
Hello all,
I'm having problems with what I'm told should be a straightforward
issue.
The message in /var/log/daemon is:

NOTIFYCMD not running
I have the nut package installed and running - everything perfect (or so I
thought). My syslog shows everything looks great, and pulling the UPS plug
for a few seconds triggers a WALL event, but not my notifycmd (which should
write a test message to syslog).
Can someone offer insight/ideas as to why my NOTIFYCMD is not running?
Thanks,
Michelle

NUT 2.8.1-3 " Can't claim USB device [051d:0002]@0/0: Entity not found" using usbhid-ups
Hi all,
Yesterday, I bought a UPS for the first time in my life, and was eager to
dive into NUT. But not all is working as expected... I saw a similar thread
started on 18 October, but it didn't help me. (I also spent a handful of
hours searching the web for solutions, and of course read the manual and
FAQ - "queequeg".)
I tried shutting my UPS (APC "Back-UPS BX750MI

NOTIFYCMD shell script problem driving me NUTS
Either I am missing something or I am really STUPID.
1. I have added a user, named nutmon, to the nut group.
2. In upsmon.conf I have set RUN_AS_USER nutmon .
3. I have NOTIFYCMD /etc/nut/notifyme.sh and it is set as 755, so should be
executable by everyone.
4. I have the NOTIFYFLAG set as SYSLOG+WALL+EXEC, so the shell should
execute.
This is the shell script :
#!/bin/bash
#
# NUT NOTIFYCMD

NUT 2.8.1-3 " Can't claim USB device [051d:0002]@0/0: Entity not found" using usbhid-ups
Hello,
I was thinking about what could be going wrong here, and a few ideas pop
up:
1) If you installed NUT from packaging, there should have been no need to
add OS groups/users manually. There is a valid use-case for running
different daemons under different accounts, as long as they talk over
network and access same files or UNIX sockets at best by sharing a group
for that, but it does need

Shutdown Problem
Hi
I'm hoping someone can help.
I'm running fc5 with nut 2.0.3. I just recently acquired 2 Gamatronic
SmartCompact ups for my Linux boxes. As you can see from the info below,
everything looks ok. When I unplug the ups from the wall, after a while, the
computer shutdowns very rudely. That it is just turns off. No scrolling down
of processes shutting down It does not seem shutdown

Things seem to be working but upscmd does nothing
The nut ups daemons seem to be communicating with the UPS but upscmd
gives me no joy. Running commands do nothing and produce no output.
Using the web interface returns an authentication failure and that is
the only clue I have. I believe I have everything setup correctly but
it's not working. Can someone review this and give me clues as to what
I should research next?

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your help. I'll respond in the same order as you did:
1. Unfortunately, I did "chown" stuff to these created users... Since
the other three responses don't seem to be what you're looking for (but
that's only my uninformed interpretation), I suppose the problem lies here?

NUT Client shuts down when performing runtime calibration on APC UPS
Here are the results from the output of upsc under different conditions from my Debian Test system with NUT 2.7.2 :

Powerware 5119 = Exide NETUPS SE = Deltec name was PowerRite Pro II
Someone might want to add this to the docs - cable list and compatibility list
- took me way to long to find.
I was trying to find information on my UPS and came up with the following names
for the same UPS series.
Powerware 5119
Exide name was NetUPS SE
Deltec name was PowerRite Pro II
