nut-2.6.5 Scientific Linux 6.3 APC AP9630 management card My basic question is, does nut's SNMPv3 implementation work? I have this in /etc/ups/ups.conf ...... That's an idea Charlie. The APC UPS I am using has an AP9630 card in it and pfSense is grabbing the snmp. I could try to use the USB cable on the FreeNAS so both could be masters. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charles Lepple" <clepple at gmail.com> To: "Danny Siminiuk" <daniel at siminiuk.com> Cc: "nut-upsuser" <nut-upsuser at

Hi Charles, I don't think "ignorelb" will work in my case because that is set on the master. I am using the nut package in pfSense as the master and I want pfSense to shutdown on LOWBATT as designed. I tried using upssched.conf with timers on the netclients but that's not appropriate because ONBATT by itself doesn't tell you how much capacity remains in the UPS. You still

Tripplite SNMPwebcard communication lost and established randomly
Just started using NUT and having a problem. I'm not sure if it is even NUT that is causing the issue. I'm running the latest FreeNAS 9.3 release. Network UPS Tools upsmon 2.7.2. The UPS is a Tripplite SU6000RT4UHVPM with the SNMPwebcard installed. I'm trying to use the SNMPwebcard, not USB or Serial. I've updated the SNMPwebcard to the latest firmware version (see below). In

I missed that snmp-ups set pollfreq to 30 by default. I'd hope that it would set deadtime to an appropriate value as well than, no? Is there a way to query what the settings are or what the defaults are? I'm going to set POLLFREQ=30 and DEADTIME = 90 and see if that has any effect. I'll check for the logs. And if that doesn't get my anywhere I'll look at trying to simulate

Wait for network delay
I am running NUT as part of FreeNAS 9.2.0. I have looked through the manuals, but I don't see how to address my issue. The box has 4 NIC's in a LACP LAGG group. It takes a while for LACP to finish, and NUT tries to start before packets are flowing. NUT will complain endlessly about communication errors and never establish SNMP communication with my APC UPS. If I stop NUT and restart

AP9630 AES Support
Hello again! Your suggestions the other day did work so thank you! I do have one more question for you guys though. APC AP9630 SNMP monitoring card is listed in the HCL and next to it there is privProtocol = AES. Does this mean only AES works or AES doesn't work? I saw the archived mailing lists were it looked like it only worked with the AES protocol, though in my set up it works with

Feedback request on a tentative proposal to enhance smb.conf symlink-related params
As mentioned in another thread, I notice that the params used to control symlinks feel a bit inefficient and inelegant, and quite limited. I think there might be a good opportunity to simplify and also make their management in Samba more powerful and adaptable to use-cases. I'm guessing this list is a good enough starting point to propose a smb.conf param change to this area and see what

Need a little help with Samba 3.5.5 on FreeNAS 7.2.5543
Good afternoon all. I have an odd problem that has me stumped and I'm hoping someone here may be able to help. Recently I switched from a Gentoo Linux based OS to FreeNAS. The version of Samba running on FreeNAS is 3.5.5 (and was the same under Linux). I mainly use my FreeNAS/Samba box to share MP3 files to an Audiotron. One of the files is the Turtle Beach radio file, radio_tr.txt. When I was

FreeNAS/Samba Group Permissions with LDAP
I'm not sure if this is an LDAP issue, a Samba issue, a BSD issue or a FreeNAS issue... I'm working at migrating a large block of file shares from an aging CentOS/Samba 3.0.9 server to a FreeNAS (8.0.2) server. (The FreeNAS box is running FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p3 and Samba 3.5.11.) I will eventually be migrating the entire domain and user base off of that server, but for the time being, I

BUG: slow xen performance under freebsd freenas
It seems that each revisions of xen unstable are getting slower and slower. Recently I can boot freenas it stops at option screen. I have to press 1 before it goes to screen in order for me to boot freenas (runnning under (hvm). Server 2012 started to slow down also. I was running instance and when I connected to it was very sluggish I had rebooted it and now seems normal. I tested virtual hard

UPS on Freenas
Dear Sir or Ma'am, I have set-up a very functional NAS in my home using Freenas 0.7.2.5543. I had problems when losing power to the NAS. When I'd power it back on, my Raid 5 array and other disks would say that it was not properly dismounted, until I erased the disks, reformatted and remounted. The problem would then go away. I have since put an UPS between my NAS and the power to
