Fopen upsmon.pid - no such file or directory - Nut 2.8.0 built from source
I've built NUT 2.8.0 from source. When the nut-monitor runs: fopen upsmon.pid fails. I'm running as root, upsmon has root:root permissions as well as the other daemons and .conf files. I've tried configuring with and without --prefixpath --prefixaltpath. Is there something I am missing? Please see attached. Dan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Heartbeat validation of NUT integrity
This note describes a heartbeat technique for validating the integrity of a NUT installation. Introduction ------------ A NUT configuration may run for months with little or no output to a system administrator to assure that the combined processes are running correctly. The technique described in this note verifies that the ups driver, upsd, upsmon, upssched and upssched-cmd components are

Dummy-ups cycles between online and onbatt every 5 minutes. (Nut 2.8.0)
Now that upsstats.cgi works, I've noticed that dummy-ups changes state every 5 minutes between OL and OB (probably when the 300 second timer expires). The UPS state stays online. Also "online" and "onbatt" are broadcast to the console probably via WALL. (The state changes don't seem to be form the ups as upsshed-cmd doesn't run). Upssched-cmd does run when the UPS

unable to connect to APC UPS Connection Refused
I've not been able to connect to my ups using NUT 2.7.4 or NUT 2.8.0. 2.7.4 was installed as a package, 2.8.O was compiled from source. I've messed with permissons, everything is root:root and has the approprate read/execute permissons. I've tried two differnt UPS(es) APC & CyperPower. I'm running PI OS (Raspbian) on a Raspberry Pi3 model B. The port 3493 is open (UFW). I can

The system doesn't shutdown
P.S.2 Today I experienced something weird. As I was working, the system started a shutdown and did shut down, then the UPS got powered off and then back on - an expected behavior for a power fail situation. However there was no power failure! I ran nut-journal to check what happened: Previous complete boot through shutdown Oct 29 10:09:33 i7 upsdrvctl[1966]: Using subdriver: MGE HID

Was /etc/nut/upssched-cmd automatically installed? upssched. Again.
Hi everyone, Here I am with my second attempt to persuade upssched to do things; for some reasons it just won't! Or if it runs, it never runs the script. OK, the story first: 2.0.3 (conveniently comes as RPMs by default on FC6) running on FC6; APC Smart-UPS 750 via serial connection all working fine. Here are the main files: /etc/sysconfig/ups SERVER=yes MODEL=apcsmart DEVICE=/dev/ttyS0

Proposal for technique to stop a timer at any moment
Dear list, I would like to propose a set of patches which make it possible for a upssched-cmd script to stop a timer at an arbitrary moment. If you find this of interest, I will submit a set of patches to 2.7.4. Roger Introduction ------------ The comments at the top of upssched.c say << * timers can be cancelled at any time before they trigger >>. It would be very useful if

New User Questions - With Belkin USB
Thanks Roger for all your help here. I hope the 2 attachments come through. The .sh is my doctored version of the script and the .report is its output. I welcome any suggestions or ideas about what might be causing my problems with monitoring to the Belkin UPS. System keeps going into FSD mode after power on
Hello, I am a new user of NUT and trying to wrap my ahead around a couple of things. I installed NUT 2.7.4-13 from package on RasPi 4, running Raspbian Linux 11 (bullseye). I have Cyberpower SL700U connected to it. For testing I set battery.charge.low to 90, so I wouldn't have to wait a long time. See all relevant config below. First of all, what seems to happen is that UPS gets to the low
