Active Directory Integration with FreeRADIUS - NTLM_Auth
Hello, I am trying to walk through the following document: http://homepages.lu/charlesschwartz/radius/freeRadius_AD_tutorial.pdf in order to authenticate Cisco router and switch logins against FreeRadius/Active Directory. Using the HowTo, I have successfully joined a FC2 box to our Windows 2003 AD for testing purposes. I have also successfully used the manual ntlm_auth command to authenticate

ntlm_auth to AD with only ntlmv2 enabled failing
Hello, We have samba 3.0.23 installed. We are using free radius to take authentication requests from a nortel vpn server and using ntlm_auth trying to authenticate users against AD. This setup works fine when on the AD side ntlmv1 and ntlmv2 are enabled. (IE. Users can authenticate). However, when only ntlmv2 is enabled users are unable to authenticate. I have searched various places and while

Using Linux domain member machine account for WPA-Enterprise authentication
Hi Michael and Samba-team, I found below message on the list, but it looks like nobody replied to it. I have the configuration setup on the Samba-side and indeed it works on Windows with machine-account authentication. It connects to wifi before a user logs in and there is no chance of lockout due to an expired user password in the wifi configuration. I would love to have the same working on

Using Linux domain member machine account for WPA-Enterprise authentication
I've noticed that when a Windows computer that is in my domain connects to my WPA-Enterprise wifi it first attempts to authenticate with the SSID using the domain member's machine account, instead of prompting the user to enter their own credentials. Has anyone ever tried to do this with a Linux domain member? For example, my linux domain member laptop uses Network Manager as the GUI,

wpa_supplicant and wi
I am using a Netgear MA401 with the wi driver, and am having trouble using wpa_supplicant to set static WEP keys. I have the wlan_wep.ko module loaded with wlan and wi built into the kernel. My wpa_supplicant.conf looks like this: ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant ctrl_interface_group=wheel network={ ssid="INTERNERD" scan_ssid=1 priority=1 key_mgmt=NONE

laptop wireless--orinoco_cs, can it do WPA?
Hi! I'm messing about with an old Toshiba Tecra laptop. i've got wireless working well using NetworkManager and WEP. But I'm interested in finding out if it is possible to get WPA/TKIP or other WPA variants to work with that driver. According to dmesg, boottime diagnostics include: eth0: Hardware identity 0005:0004:0005:0000 eth0: Station identity 001f:0001:0008:000a eth0: firmware

[LEARNING OUTCOME] Wi-Fi WPA Hacking Tool is Totally Useless on New Wireless Routers
Hi, I am sharing my learning outcomes. Recently I downloaded Kali Linux 64-bit Version 2018.1 and ran it on my HP laptop with the integrated Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 Wireless Network Card. I wanted to test if I could hack the Wi-Fi WPA password on Ruckus R700 Access Point (AP) and the Aztech DSL8900GR(AC) Wireless Router. So I started using the Reaver WPA cracking tool. I understand

MadWiFi and WPA working only on base kernel, not plus kernel
Interesting situation: First my system - HP NC4010, with Atheros pci mini card. Latest MadWiFi drivers from: http://atrpms.net/dist/el4/madwifi/ and wpa from: http://atrpms.net/dist/el4/wpa_supplicant/ I had just the madwifi working back in Jul at the IETF conference. But as open only. I had upgraded to the plus kernel, thinking it would get my internal SD card reader working (it

Warning - Raspberry Pi: WPA GUI & tinc crash
Hello Sven, what WLAN adapter are you using? And how does this relate to WPA GUI? tinc and TLS
Hello, Sorry if this is a frequently-asked question - but I didn't find the answer on the tinc frequently-asked questions page :-) OK, the question is: * Given that tinc uses TCP for its metadata channel, and that tinc also uses the OpenSSL library, why doesn't tinc just open a TLS connection for its metadata channel? I'm sure there must be a good reason, but I can't think

WPA question
HI I admit up front that I know just enough about wireless networking to know that I don't know much at all about it. That said, I'm hoping someone can help me learn a little bit... Specifically, could a laptop running Centos 5.1 be expected to (be able to) connect to a wireless access point using WPA2 security settings? I don't know if WPA depends on hardware support, or if

NetworkManger wireless issues - "Failed to load root certificates"/"unable to get local issuer certificate"
Hi, I'm trying to connect my CentOS 6.8 laptop to the wireless net at work, which is secured with WPA2 and AES. I've done this successfully in the past using NetworkManager, but a new safety feature was recently introduced: A CA certificate is required. After this, I've not been able to connect. I have a DER format file, whose path I've entered in CA certificate: in the

RADIUS Questions
I've been running FreeRadius 2 on Centos 5.5 for a while now. So far so good. I'm now looking to make connecting to our WPA secured wireless easier. The RADIUS server is running in a VM and since the system is in use I have copied the original and used that copy to create a test environment. I have run through all system updates and have upgraded all relevant packages. The test system
