UPS Shutdown
I'm trying to better understand OffDelay and OnDelay:
http://networkupstools.org/docs/man/usbhid-ups.html#_extra_arguments
My server requires ~3? minutes to shut itself down. Considering this I'm comfortable setting OffDelay to 300 (five minutes).
How does this work in conjunction with the UPS hardware? Does NUT immediately send a command to the UPS to wait for 300 seconds and then shut

Errors when running on Windows
I'm facing a looming deadline for getting this working, so I'm hoping someone experienced can weigh in on this.
I'm getting errors in the Event Log when stopping the service:
1. Error stopping upsd (2)
2. Error stopping upsmon (2)
Is there a detailed log somewhere? How can I track this down and find out what they mean? Or does someone know?
Also, these three commands result in

Very good, thank you.

How to get started (Windows)
I've been able to get the latest Windows port installed on my Hyper-V 2012 R2 instance and start the service.
But as I'm an absolute beginner I'm not sure how to proceed further. I've browsed the archives, but discussions here tend to assume at least an intermediate level of understanding; thus it's still quite a bit over my head. Your patience and slow explanations are

upsmon says ONBATT when status: TRIM
Hi,
I've been getting emails from upsmon saying:
Subject: UPS PW5125 at localhost notification: ONBATT
UPS PW5125 at localhost on battery
But then the machines on the UPS stay on for hours; we haven't got
that kind of runtime, more like 10-20 minutes.
After a few occurrences, it now happened at a time where I could log
in to see in real time what is happening and:
$ upsc PW5125 |

HP R3000 XR, warning or perhaps error
Hi,
So far I've gleaned heaps of useful info from the list and got mostly
running with NUT. There was a thread by Paul Battaglia and Kjell
Claesson about the R3000 which has helped me get so far, but now with
the patched driver I still have this on startup:
# /usr/local/ups/bin/upsdrvctl start

Retain parts of a matrix
Hi all,
I'm working to apply a function that will generate a matrix of results only
when a specific criteria is met.
I want my final results to be a matrix with both the values that meet the
criteria (the results of the function), and those that to do in the same
positions in the matrix (the original numbers).
Here's a sample of what I would like to do:

How to loop on file names
Dear all,
I need to do the same procedure on several files. But I don't know how
to refer to the file name.
Here is an example of what I am trying to do.
List of files: file1(A,B,C, D1...Dn), file2(A,B,C,E1,...,En),
file3(A,B,C,F1,...,Fn)
Procedure I want to apply on each file:
dft <- melt(df,id=c('A','B','C'))
dft$X <- substr(dft$variable,1,3)

Hi
I have the following UPS :

It is using the bcmxcp_usb driver.
I started the driver with debug options, and noticed the following for

What I want to do is:
loop a random sample 10 times, and for each time it is sampled I want to
run a correlation between both columns. What I have so far is this:

Timeseries Data Plotted as Monthly Boxplots
Hello, I'm trying to develop a box plot of time series data to look at the
range in the data values over the entire period of record.
My data initially starts out as a list of hourly data, and then I've been
using this code to make this data into the final ts array.
# Read in the station list
stn.list <- read.csv("/home/kbennett/fews/stnlist3", as.is=T, header=F)

Bug? between OpenSSH 6.4p1 and 6.5p1(also 6.6p1)
The problem I am seeing was introduced between 6.4p1 and 6.5p1 (and
still exists in 6.6p1). With HostbasedAuthentication/EnableSSHKeysign
turned on, I am seeing one of two sets of messages:
no matching hostkey found
ssh_keysign: no reply
key_sign failed
and
not a valid request
ssh_keysign: no reply
key_sign failed
Then in either case two password prompts:
