replacement for IMAP_EMPTYTRASH=Trash:7
While running dovecot on debian etch using version 1.0.rc15-2etch3, i wonder
the following:
If i read the config files correctly, dovecot seems to have no equivalent of
courier's IMAP_EMPTYTRASH=Trash:7 setting.
Therefore, i wrote a script that dives into the user's directories and their
maildirs. It looks like this:
=============================================
#!/bin/bash

prefdm still unfinished?
After testing the beta of CentOS 5, i was a little surprised to notice that
the display manager part of the prefdm file in /etc/X11 was exactly like in
CentOS 4 / RHEL4 and previous versions including RH9.
it reads like this (added line numbers for reference):
14 # Run preferred X display manager
15 preferred=
16 if [ -f /etc/sysconfig/desktop ]; then
17 . /etc/sysconfig/desktop

(Fwd) Re: Slightly OT: Generators & UPS
Hi,
I'm the original poster on the subject.
Thanks for all the replies.
A few more points.
The generator outputs 7kw @ 220V.
The total PC's supplied is about 9.
I estimate power consumption to be
9 x 300w=2700w
4 halogens @ 400w each=1600w
10 Compact Flourescents @ 11w =110w
Therefore total power=4410w
Which leaves me with spare capacity of about 2590w (in theory).
I think its

Problem making usbhid-ups working on Centos 5.7
Hello,
I've compiled and installed nut-2.7.2 on a Xen server (Actually XCP
1.6/Centos 5.7) to manage a Dell UPS 2700W.
Here is my ups.conf :
[SU27003U-08]
driver = usbhid-ups
port = auto
desc = "SU27003U-08"
52-nut-usbups.rules have well been installed in /lib/udev/rules.d/. I've put
it in /etc/udev/rules.d/ too.
I've rebooted the machine.

loop through and modify multiple data frames
Hi
Newbie question:
I have a set of data frames that I want to do the same calculations on each.
I've found out that I can put them in a list and loop through the list
to do the calculation, but not put the results back into each
data.frame..
For example three data frames cats, dogs, birds
where >cats
name eats_kg
1 bob 3
2 garfield 4
3 chuck 6
and dogs and birds are similar but not

Deleting messages from MailDir
Hello,
I have dovecot running with MailDir as a backend to store email and I would like to remove mail that is older that 30 days.
I can do this by running 'find' on the MailDir but will this cause any issues with dovecot?
Thanks,
Matt.

11kbps narrowband on a 24bit DSP
I've never tried Speex on a 24-bit DSP, but I would suggest actually
leaving the code (nearly) as-is. The scaling factors actually should not
change because I'm using integer multiplications, not fractional
multiplications. So what should happen is that the top 8 bits or 24-bit
values and the top 16-bit of 48-bit values will be unused (filled with
sign bits). There may be a few cases where

11kbps narrowband on a 24bit DSP
Hi,
I am using speex 1.2beta2 on a 24bit DSP that has a severe program and
data space limitations. I am only interested in the speex decoder for
11kbps narrowband implementation.
I am using the following parameters and structures
160, /*frameSize*/
40, /*subframeSize*/
10, /*lpcSize*/
17, /*pitchStart*/
144, /*pitchEnd*/

Slightly OT: Generators & UPS
Hi,
Can anyone shed some light on this:
My PC's are on a separate power circuit. Each PC has its own UPS.
I have an old Honda generator. When the power goes out, I fire up the
generator. However, the UPS's still run on battery. If I connect the
PC directly to the socket and bypass the UPS, the PC works.
I was told by a UPS supplier, that the power output from the
generator was
