Regarding the Asium P700
I just looked at the ups.conf file and noticed that I have ondelay=40. Should that not have overwritten the value shown for ups.delay.start? Perhaps this UPS is not ready for prime time ! However it works okay for me. John Hart -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

regarding Asium P700
No, the Battery Temp does not change. It is always 25C. I don't know why the ups.delay.start is that high. Is that user configurable? Yes, I have tested the automatic shutdown. Works well. Yes, the instant commands work, at least those I feel comfortable testing. Battery test work fine. I have not enable the write to variables. Did not know that it might be necessary. John Hart -----

Some thoughts on loss of communication
As a follow up on my last message, where I talked about loss of USB communication with my Asium P700 UPS, I was thinking about some possible improvements.? 1.? When communications are lost, instead of shutting down immediately why not set a flag and then stop the driver and then restart the driver.? If communication is not re-established, and the flag was set, then shut down the system.? Perhaps

Strange
I tested shutdown by pulling the plug from the wall socket and observed that I was notgetting any notifications. ?Then I opened the NUT Monitor GUI and immediately got notified. What did I do wrong? ?I think that upsmon runs at startup so why do I have to open the GUI?in order to get messages? ? John?"Science is organized common sense. problem with NOTIFYCMD
After some testing, I notice that my NOTIFYCMD script seems to work if I call it as user 'john' (that's me) but if I call it as 'root' it does not work. So is there a permissions issue ? I have permission on the file set to 755. I see there is a variable in upsmon.conf called RUN_AS_USER. I do not have this defined. Does this variable need to be defined ? I presume that if

Shutdown problem with Geek Squad GS1285U
Nut will monitor the ups and shutdown Linux when the ups goes to low battery as it should. But the UPS is not shut down so the system will restart when the power is restored. If I switch the UPS off , restore power and switch the UPS on the system will restart. I have not been able to get nut to switch the UPS off after it brings the system down. I can get the UPS to switch off with upscmd

I'm new to NUT in Windows, having problems with blazer_usb doing an UPS shutdown

I have, after 3 days of painful reading, testing and failing, successfully set up NUT to communicate with my cheap-ass line-interactive 1000VA Chinese UPS (just no brand at all, it is a locally rebranded UPS,
