FW: Problem with Active Directory authentication
Hi, If you have the "template = /bin/bash" option, I think it is more likely something wrong with the way ssh is trying to authenticate the username. Do a "getent passwd" and then try "ssh -v '<username exactly as getent returns it (case sensitive)>'@<fqdn of server>. If it doesn't work, post the output of what ssh generates. Mike E. On Thu,

Problem with Active Directory authentication
Hello -- I removed the ldap and sssd packages from the server, and I am trying to get winbind to work on the system. The configuration of the /etc/samba/smb.conf file's global section is the following: [global] ## Browsing/Identification ### # Change this to the workgroup/NT-domain name your Samba server will part of security = ads realm = <domain name> workgroup =

baby blue screen of permanent death
I clicked on a window to try to raise it and get a good look. Instead, my screen turned the baby blue mentioned in the subject and I could do nothing else. The mouse cursor was not even visible. It's possible an alternate terminal was available, but I didn't think of it at the time. Eventually I hit the reset button. My Daktech machine has a reset button separate from the power button. The

Problem with Active Directory authentication
Hello -- The version of Samba that I am running on the server is the 4.3.9 Ubuntu package. To that end, I reconfigured the smb.conf file to reflect the entries listed in your e-mail. I added the syntax: default shell = /bin/bash to the smb.conf file, and restarted the samba and winbind daemons. Unfortunately, the getent passwd command indicated the /bin/false shell was still the default. What

Problem with Active Directory authentication
The problem that I am now facing is the fact there is no NIS domain that can be selected from the dropdown menu, which, in turn, prevents the login shell from being modified. ________________________________ From: Data Control Systems - Mike Elkevizth [mike at datacontrolsystems.com] Sent: Friday, June 10, 2016 3:14 PM To: Kaplan, Andrew H. can't mount an LVM volume inCentos 5.10
I have a degraded raid array (originally raid-10, now only two drives) that contains an LVM volume. I can see in the appended text that the Xen domains are there but I don't see how to mount them. No doubt this is just ignorance on my part but I wonder if anyone would care to direct me? I want to be able to retrieve dom-0 and one of the dom-Us to do data recovery, the others are of

HP USB printer accepts jobs, but won't print
My HP USB C3180 All-in-one printer accepts jobs, but does not print. A job simply sits in the queue. I haven't used it on this computer for a while. It will print a test page when I connect it. The last line from hp-info -i is 04/07/17 13:26:21 5012 Device communication error hennebry 0 (I've removed some blanks.) Any ideas on how to diagnose this? -- Michael hennebry at
