Identifying disk resources in dom0
Hello, For my xen domUs I''m using a mixture of locah physical partitions (with LVM) and iSCSI disks. For local partitions, I don''t have any problem, because LVM volumes are always the same. But for iSCSI disks, devices are assigned in the order they are connected, so I can''t be sured that device that now is /dev/sdb (for example) will always be /dev/sdb. So, is there

How to rebuild the Centos 6.4 iso images with the same contents as officially released iso images ?
I have read many Centos webpages and mail archives but found only raw descriptions of the build process. My first aim is to rebuild CentOS-6.4-x86_64-LiveCD.iso using the Centos repositories and preferably without recompiling the SRPMs, just to verify the build process. My final aim is to create a Centos LiveOS contain the packages in CentOS-6.4-x86_64-minimal.iso plus some network configuration

sda and sdb reverse order with an external USB drive
Hello I am using 64 bit CentOS 6.4 on an i7 laptop with one sata drive and a CD drive. I installed CentOS by manually partitioning sda as: sda1 as /boot, sda2 as swap, sda3 as /. The booted system works great. When I insert an external USB drive, formatted as ext3, the hard drive on the laptop and the USB drive are either sda or sdb, depending upon the order on which I insert the USB drive

file serving speed in REST
This is all ridiculously preliminary, but it''s late, I''m tired, and I think this kinda kicks ass. I''ve just committed what I think is the (finally!) conversion of file serving to REST from xmlrpc. I took the time to refactor how recursion works, and that probably has had a bigger effect on speed than the REST change, at least for larger directories and smaller

kickstarting with rails routing problem
I''ve rewritten my kickstart cgi in rails with DB acces to the host list and the testing is perfect. I can send the macaddress in the HTTPrequest Header, rails looks up the macaddr in the machine db and spits back out a kickstart file for the machine.. however in real world usage what I get is a request for http://server//kickstarts/kickme which rails fails with 192.168.20.176 - -

Last few days in CentOS
hi everyone, I know this update has been a bit delayed, things have been pretty hectic. But lots of good updates for everyone: Distro -------- * Updates for CentOS Linux 5/7 : All updates from upstream are released into the CentOS mirror network. * Upstream 6.7 was released a few days back, we have all the rpms from that release built and released to the early-adopters into the CentOS-CR repos

A question about Linux kernels and Asterisk
I know nothing about building custome kernels so if these are stupid questions then tell me.. :) I am guessing that since the kernel can be built with all sorts of options and settings.. So is there anything in the kernel setup that could be used to make a custome kernel that would be optimised for use with asterisk and make it better able to process the codec operations and RTP streams?? or

[LLVMdev] Linking Modules
I've hacked around this problem in the past but I would like to do things the "right" way. Suppose I have this scenario: - A data structure that maps LLVM Values off to the side. - We link two Modules together The data structure is a map from one IR to another, so when we see objects in one IR we know which LLVM Values represent them. Somehow the data structure needs to be

Fwd: the same function returning different values when called differently..
Hi Akshay, (Please include r-help when replying) You have learned that PFC.NS and snl[[159]] are not identical. Now you have to figure out why they differ. This could also point to a bug or a logic error in your program. Figuring out how two objects differ can be a bit tricky, but with experience it becomes easier. (Some others may even have some suggestions for good ways to do it.) Basically
