For what its worth, net-snmp-perl isn't available any RHEL8 channels
either. I suspect this is another one of those packages that aren't
in CentOS because they aren't in RHEL.
(Disclaimer: I don't know one way or the other, just checked on my

Logging what sieve does
Is there anyway to log exactly what sieve does with a message? (Like, what rules triggered, flags applied, headers rewritten, if the message was placed anywhere else before final delivery, etc).

And sssd is *not* your friend if you do anything remotely
sophisticated. It's configuration tools erase any sophisticated setups
in sssd. For any even repotely sophisticated setup, I'll encourage you

[PATCH] nsd-patch: fix segfault after renaming slave zone
Hi all,
we have discovered a segfault in nsd-patch when renaming slave zone in nsd
config file if some data for this zone still exists in the IXFR diff
database.
In my case, the zone "black" was renamed to "blackinwhite":

allow-notify SUBNET and request-xfr inconsistency
Hi list,
We are observing strange behavior of nsd v3.2.9 acting as slave DNS server.
The environment is set up as follows:
0. We are using 172.16.0.0/16 subnet;
1. Primary Master server at 172.16.100.114;
2. Slave server at 172.16.100.115. The config file is
in /etc/nsd-dns-slave.conf;
3. There may be also other Master servers im the given subnet.
Now I want to permit DNS NOTIFY messages to

place plugin
The place plugin has a bug:
when compiz is restarted or started to replace another wm it the windows
are placed in weird positions ( titlebar behind the panel etc.)
shouln't the place plugin loop over all open windows and place them
correctly when loaded? this should solve this issues.
any reason why this isn't done? have I missed something or is this just
a bug?

CentOS Security Advisories OVAL feed??
Dear List,
I have spent some time playing around with oscap and the RHEL OVAL feed
(https://www.redhat.com/security/data/oval/v2/RHEL8/, also check Chapter
16 of the RHEL 8 Design Guide). Because I could not find an existing
OVAL file for CentOS, I downloaded one of the RHEL8 files and managed to
modify (eg. the rhel-8.1-e4s.oval.xml) it to make it work on a CentOS
machine. Basically I just

Deadlock with ATA disk on FreeBSD 4.8 Stable
Hi Soeren,
We encounter here a deadlock with a quite new ATA 120GB disk.
The disk worked good for about 3 weeks, but now we have a strange
problem.
There seems to be one defective file on the disk. fsck doesn't find
it, and if I do a
cat file > /dev/null
The machine locks completly. Serial console is dead, no remote DDB
via ALTBREAK possible anymore, no panic message, just freezed.

[LLVMdev] Switch instruction optimization
Hello there,
I have a high level code which would look like that in C++:
enum E { A, B, C };
E int2e(long i) {
switch(i) {
case 0: return A;
case 1: return B;
case 2: return C;
default: return A;
}
}
It is compiled to this IR with O3 optimization:
define i64 @int2e(i64 %i_arg) #0 {
entry:
switch i64 %i_arg, label %label_case1 [
i64 2, label

updated samba 4.18 & 4.17 packages for debian & ubuntu to address trust issue with windows 10/11 update 07/2023
Thanks Michael for doing this,
I've used your patch ( fix-unsupported-netr_LogonGetCapabilities-l2.patch
) to also update my RHEL8 packages for 4.17.9 ( [1] ).
With this patch of yours and these rpms the trusted connection shows up as
'Good' as it was previously. As usual, if anyone's interested in providing
feedback for these rpms, I'll gladly take it.

ORC error: No callback manager available
Hi LLVM Developers,
I have a query about an LLVM error message that I'm encountering and I
hope it's appropriate to post to this mailing list about it.
Postgres can be built with LLVM-based JIT support.
I find that when running on Linux (RHEL8) on IBM Z hardware, using
LLVM8+, I'm seeing many instances of the following LLVM error message
appearing in the Postgres server log:

[LLVMdev] Switch instruction optimization
On first glance, this looks like it should be handled by
ForwardSwitchConditionToPHI in SimplifyCFG. (Note: That's a guess. I'm
reading the code for the first time.) I'd suggest filling a bug with all
of the options you're running with. We really should catch this case.
Well, really there's two missed optimization cases here. Even without
the case value forwarding,
