Using Asterisk to play Icecast streams
Steve,
These are live streams of events so I can't simply rip the audio. As I
mentioned at the end of my email putting in a sleep did help a bit however
there are only so many streams Asterisk will grab nicely at once with out
spiking the CPU. I also tinkered a bit with real time here is what I found:
1) If we have cachertclasses=no then Asterisk will only pull the stream if
some one is

Lost outgoing SIP packets
Hi Roel
Just guessing: do you have conntrack enabled?
If not, "modprobe nf_conntrack_netlink" (you can remove it and its dependencies
later)
What are the outputs of
sysctl net.netfilter.nf_conntrack_count
and
sysctl net.netfilter.nf_conntrack_max
when the problem shows up?
cheers

Lightweight ODBC DB
Glenn,
I can't use MySQL as each node currently has MySQL however there is a lot
of data that is stored locally on each box. I may have to take this route
if I can't find something else but that would mean syncing all sorts of
data that does not need to be synced.

Help with FUNC_MATH
John,
That is correct. I am trying to figure out why Asterisk is executing the
set part of the execif, if it's coming back as false.

Josh,
What should Asterisk do if one of the real time methods fail? I have in
extconfig.conf
musiconhold => curl,http://localhost/moh.php,1
musiconhold => mysql,db-east,asterisk_moh,2
If the first server sends back a 404 it does not go to the second
connection. Shouldn't a 404 be considered a failure and it should then move
over to the next rt engine?

My Apologies Dovid, I think I misunderstood your request.
You don't have the time you need to convert in the format of date string,
Instead you have your users entering via DTMF when they want something to
happen?

Troubleshooting load issues
All the calls are using ulaw. The files that I am playing are gsm. I
suppose doing a file convert with sox to .ulaw may help but it should be
able to do 500 calls without an issue. Can it possibly be a bug? if not how
do I profile which call(s) can be causing the spike?

Firefox and CPU spikes?
Is it just me, or does anyone else experience their CPU utilization
spiking to 100% for about 5 to 10 seconds when Firefox is about to
download a file, via http or ftp? Then, after the file starts to
download, the CPU usage drops back down to normal.
I've got Firefox 2.0.0.4 running on CentOS 4.4 32-bit.
Thanks.

Length of dial string
Hi Dovid
Yes was one of the options but as the required list is dynamic becomes very
messy - and all combinations problem - where as "call all workers job xxx"
is what is needed so the ability to call 20+ numbers is what is needed - agi
does a database search for all jobx workers and constructs a dialstring with
SIP, DAHDI and Local devices.
Can someone tell me where to find maximum

John,

the unix time that I put in? What I am actually looking to do is convert

Jon,
We are only using FastAgi. On the second system (running Asterisk 16) there
are no agi's running (just some bash scripts on call hangup). I did add
some hackey code (netstat -nua | grep -v 'udp 0 0' | grep -v
udp6 | grep -v ' 0 0.0.0.0' | grep udp) to my bash script to check out the
packet queue (with the help of

CPU spikes with wcfxs loaded
I need to reopen this discussion because it's impossible to run spandsp
(and VoIP) under these circumstances.
With zaptel unloaded, I see the following "vmstat 1" output:
no swapping, an occasional disk output, +/- 1003 interrupts/sec., less
than 10 context switches/sec., CPU idle 100%. A very quiet system.
I load modules zaptel and wcfxo, and the system utilization stays the

Redis in place of astdb
Dovid, You could use func_odb + a ODBC Redis driver to keep from having to
