dev.copy(postscript,...) generates a disrupted string
Dear R-Users, I have the following problem: I would like to create a postscript file containing an r-plot with the string "\\vartheta" in it (reason: this is later converted to the TeX-string "\vartheta" and a vartheta is printed in the figure). In the minimal example below, the problem is that the created postscript file does _not_ contain the string "\\vartheta

Bug#793921: tftpd-hpa: IPv6 address cannonization breaks IPv4
Take 2 at bouncing this to the rest of the original recipients through a different MTA, since mail.zytor.com refused to accept it the first time. Please re-add Jason Gunthorpe <jgg at obsidianresearch.com> and 793921 at bugs.debian.org to the CC for replies. sip error logging
I recently noticed that asterisk is not logging unknown sip connections. I'm not sure if I've broken something or if asterisk itself has been broken. the last entry I have is: /var/log/asterisk/messages.9:[Feb 10 23:58:48] NOTICE[9868] chan_sip.c: Registration from '<sip:22942 at 10.0.0.3>' failed for '10.0.0.228:5060' - No matching peer found my logger.conf

Major Internet disruption to/from ETH Zurich...
The big Swiss University network provider has been having severe problems for about 8 hours now --- particularly the cross-atlantic connection seems broken --- Many of you will get R-help or ESS-help E-mails very much delayed. Hope things start working soon by themselves. [for those that are disrupted: When you get this message, things should be back to normal; otherwise you wouldn't have

Disrupting UPS hardware
Some of you may remember me as a NUT contributor years back - I did a significant amount of work on documentation, and later moved the repository from Subversion to GIT. I eventually drifted away from the project in large part because I found the lossage from lazy, least-cost-is-everything product designs too annoying to deal with. I recently had a bad experience with a UPS that brought all my

port blocking/disruption i think
hi list this is as probably more of networking problem than an icecast problem but it is related - hope people don't mind. I've been running tests for a project that starts 20 August. I'm sending stream from my audio software to a local icecast server, then relaying this to a commercial shoutcast service. Initially i was using 7000 for the relay port. Worked fine. Then one morning

The message was not delivered due to the following reason(s): Your message was not delivered because the destination computer was unreachable within the allowed queue period. The amount of time a message is queued before it is returned depends on local configura- tion parameters. Most likely there is a network problem that prevented delivery, but it is also possible that the computer is turned

How to enable EDAC kernel module for checking ECC memory?
In order to support ZFS, we upgraded a backups server with a new, ECC motherboard. We're running CentOS 6 with ZFS on Linux, recently patched. Now, I want to enable EDAC so we can check for memory errors (and maybe PCI errors as well) but so far, repeatedly pounding on the Google hasn't yielded exactly what I need to do to enable EDAC. One howto was covering PCI and edac, but

Pre-release FXRuby binary gems for testing
All, A couple of new build platforms have come into the picture since the last FXRuby release and I''m trying to make sure they''re supported. That is to say, I want to be able to provide precompiled binary gems so that users on those platforms don''t have to build everything from source. I think I''m there, but I could use your help testing if you have
