Asterisk and CentOS 8
Hello George,
Hope this finds you well!
I wonder if there has been any progress on this matter?
I've been working to have Asterisk running on CentOS 8 and our jump from
CentOS 6 to 8 doesn't look too bad.... The missing packages found are:
gmime-devel, iksemel-devel, corosynclib-devel, libresample-devel, hoard and
python-devel. Python-devel could be replaced by python2-devel or

pjsip startup errors when using "with-ssl" configure option
Hello list,
Hope you are all doing well!
I am facing a problem when compiling Asterisk 16.8.0 in a CentOS 6 box and
I wonder if someone can put some light on it.
Log history short, install_prereq fails to install the packages (not sure
how important they actually are....): speexdsp-devel, gmime-devel,
uriparser-devel, iksemel-devel, uw-imap-devel, hoard
Then, I am running the following commands

Definite app_jack trouble - unsolvable
Greetings!
I now found someone to test gtalk with and found out, that app_jack has a
problem here. My voice gets transmitted fine, but I only get white noise from
the other party. I tried to set my JACK samplerate to 8000 to make sure it's
no libresample problem, the results were the same.
My setup is:
Linux Debian Lenny
Kernel: 2.6.30.4 PREEMPT (self-built)
JACKd: jackd version

Audio Resampling Library Suggestions?
Can anyone recommend a good library for performing audio downsampling?
I intend to start playing around with "libresample"
as well as taking a look at "Secret Rabbit Code"
(http://www.mega-nerd.com/SRC/), but I'd love some opinions before I get too
involved with either.
Free would be best, but

app_jack unavailable
Hello,
I am new to Asterisk, so please bear with me.
I have made a success installation from source of Asterisk 14.4.0 on
Debian Jessie (8.7). And I am running the Asterisk server, with several
extensions and dialplans, all working well.
However I am struggling to get app_jack to run.
In menuselect I can see that it is XXX due to dependencies on jack and
resample, however both Debian packages:

Asterisk + Jabber
I want to use JabberSend in my dialplan, but I saw that my Asterisk does
not support Jabber.
Also I have nowhere a module res_jabber.so...
So I thought I'd rebuild my Asterisk. In menuselect I saw that
res_jabber was dependent of 'iksemel' and 'gnutls'.
In my yum repositories I can find a gnutls.i386, but what is this
iksemel-beast ???
There is info to find via google on

I have been working with Asterisk for the ivr functionalities in the past. I am interested to implement the Jabber - Gtalk in asterisk.
For which i installed the iksemel but this didnt help me out. I couldnt find the res_jabber.so file any where in the asterisk source directory. Still when i run the command "make menuselect" the channel driver "chan_gtalk" shows xxx

can't update CENTOS - mirrore issue? or what?
For about a week a biug stack of updates have been pending for CENTOS
but I can't install them. The yum update command leads to dependency
resolution in the usual way but it always ends in this:

---> Package xorg-x11-drv-qxl.i386 0:0.0.12-1.2.el5 set to be updated

gmime-2.1.19 and mime decoding
Everyone,
Please forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but
would sure appreciate some direction if this list is the wrong place.
Looks like Fedora 5 and 6 have gmime-2.1.19 as part of the distribution,
but it is not present within CentOS 5 or with the extra repositories
I would like to use some of the tools in this package to decode some
mime e-mail attachments on a CentOS

It seems to be needed by my pan.
What should I do?
Thanks,
