Authentication problems after update to Samba 2.2.12
Hello,
I've just updated from Samba 2.2.8a to 2.2.12 and now I've regconized
that my user authentication does not work anymore. We have an Active
Directory Domain and I tried the following lines in smb.conf:
security = domain
password server = dc1,dc2
encrypted passwords = yes
With these lines all authentications fail. When I change my configuration to
security = server

Problem with shlwapi, msxml and Borland xml vcls.
After get bcb working, I'm now trying to get working also my
application, so that can be used under wine (no, I can't port it, it's a
tool that works with Ultima Online, so I need to write it for windows &
wine). The problem now is that i have some problems running the
executable.
First note: if I set a breakpoint into the code, I can run the software

For the simple reason that it is easier to find the letter ''o'' in the
first message than in the second message:

PXE UNDI Options in PXELINUX
Hello
I wonder, if you know any more about the possibilities of having a
standard Network driver for most cards. Is there any such thing for
linux? Where do I get it? Is there possibly something for DOS? A UNDI
Packetdriver would be cool, because then I could use DosSCP on every
Network card I would ever be using with MemDisk (which in turn is very
cool.)

ancient directx version support
What is the status of support for directx2 apps?
The "failed to create surface" error in MissionForce: Cyberstorm
seems to have persisted forever...
I have a +relay log of the said game launch session, (if
somebody wants it, i can provide the full version) --
it appears that the graphics backend call pair
which causes trouble is to winex11.drv.GetDCEx()/

memdisk and harddisk image creation under Linux
I read the following about memdisk :
....
For any other size, the image is assumed to be a hard disk image, and
should typically have an MBR and a partition table. The disk C/H/S
geometry is determined by examining the partition table, so the entire
image should be partitioned for proper operation.
....
I'd like to create a bootable cd, wich boots a linux and some other tools.

Creating HD Boot Images
I have been trying to track down information on building HD boot images for
ISOLINUX and MEMDISK, and so far, haven't had a whole lot of luck.
I've found a number of sources describing the process of setting up
ISOLINUX and MEMDISK, and how to configure the boot CD to boot various
OS's. I've also read through Bart Lagerweij's BootCD/ModBoot pages, and

Remote/Local X differences
"Local" is a Debian SID laptop. This is the machine on which Wine
runs-- XFree86 4.03. "Remote" is a Sunray, so it is essentially a Sun
Xsun Xserver. I have tried this on an 8-bit NCD X server, though, with
the same results.
This is a followup to a post ("X11: Oracle Forms runs fine locally, but
not remotely") from 6/20.
To sum up: I have an application using

Installing Flash MX 2004: dcom98 is ok but can't get InstallShield to continue
Maybe some wise linux & WINE guru will help me to install
Flash MX 2004 on my system, here's my problem:
My system is Debian (unstable) and I've installed WINE
a few hours ago.
I've visited
http://navi.cx/svn/misc/trunk/winekb/NativeDCOM.xml
and did as written and was able to install DCOM98.EXE successfully.
Then I went on to install Flash MX 2004 by running:

United Devices Client
The installer for the UD client seems to work wonderfully, installing
itself and a bunch of dll's into the windows\system directory.
The client however, pops up a message box on startup claiming "Invalid

Which debugmsg options would be helpful in finding the problem? Most of

debugging an app
I'm trying to debug a program that page faults on me, and I'm actually
quite keen to have a go at fixing it myself.
Unfortunately, I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle: I can't make
good use of the debug messages.
Background:
The program I am attempting to run is TrackLogs

app has problems parsing its config file
Hello,
I want to make wine run a qt-based commercial, large windows app. I run
wine 0.9.22 on gentoo amd64 and can successfully run other
applications. The app in question starts up fine, asks for which
modules to use and then proceeds to constructs a temporary config file
for itself. However, it then proceeds with an error message by itself
that it encountered a problem parsing this config file
