/dev/hvc0: No such file or directory
Hi Everyone, In the guest image I download from stacklet, a Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 DomU, in /var/log/auth.log, I see: /dev/hvc0: No such file or directory listed a lot of times. I''m not experiencing any problems, however it makes looking through logs for auditing purposes a bit annoying. Any ideas what this is? I think it has something to do with the "Hypervisor Console",

Drupal/MySQL performance in Xen and OpenVZ
Hi, We are considering a transition from OpenVZ to Xen for our web server infrastructure. The primary task performed by the virtual servers is to run a number of Drupal sites with a MySQL backend. The webserver and MySQL servers are on separate virtual hosts. We also have a number of smaller hosts running on the same hardware (a couple of dev-servers, a logging-and-monitoring server, a secondary

ipv6 NAT; accept_ra errors and about network choice
Hello, Firstly THANK YOU for the IPv6 NAT support merged in 6.5. It has been almost impossible to get IPv6 into a VM on a laptop that switches between wifi and wired (dock) connections, because you can not add a wifi interface to a bridge. I know NAT is against the IPv6 end-to-end xen but it makes this "just work" for the vast majority of people like me who need to ssh/curl/talk to

Diagnosing IPv6 routing
I just got 50 Mbps symmetric fiber from AT&T and it includes a /56 of IPv6 addresses, replacing a much slower ADSL line. I never tried to get IPv6 working on the old connection. I'm using CentOS 7 as a gateway and it's worked great for several versions for IPv4. I'm not seeing any IPv6 default route on the WAN interface. I suspect I'm not getting route announcements. I

Centos 6 - disabling IPv6 addressing
Sorry - that should be sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.accept_ra=0 to disable that, not 1. Asterisk "virtual hosting"
Hello, I am in the peculiar situation to have to set up a PBX for two independent sites, but operated by the same entity. Yes, I could set up two VPSs and install Asterisk to each, put common stuff (e.g. conferencing setup) into Git and share between both using includes, but for various reasons (among them simplicity and cost), I'd prefer a single Asterisk instance. I know I can #include

Adding Foreman to an existing Puppet master
Greetings: Sorry for cross-posting this question, but I haven''t gotten any love over on the Google Forum for Foreman users<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/foreman-users> (their forum isn''t as active as this one). I only recently learned about The Foreman and I''d like to deploy it on a 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04 LTS workstation to provision/manage a bunch of

How many guests
Hi Everyone, I have a Dell R210 server which has a Xeon X3430 Quad Core CPU (2.4Ghz x 4) with 8GB of RAM. I intend to use the H200 controller in a RAID1 setup How many VMs do you think I''d be able to run on this machine? Is 20 pushing it? I''d say most (if not all) guests would be in PV mode. After upgrade to CentOS 8.1 default gateway missing
Hi, Tonight I upgraded two CentOS 8 boxes to CentOS 8.1 (1911). Then after a reboot of the first server the network was unavailable. In IPMI console everything except the network was looking good. Network was unreachable. No errors in NetworkManager. I also restarted NetworkManager, but it did not help. Then I discovered that the default gateway suddenly was missing. Then I rebooted the

Does HEP require PJSIP or does it also works with SIP ?
Hello, On a newly built Asterisk 13.13.1 system, I can't make HEP work with chan_sip (though I could make it work with PJSIP on another instance). Looking either at [1] or hep.conf, I can't see anything meaning HEP requires PJSIP. Before diging deeper, may I simply ask if HEP requires PJSIP or not ? What about a line mentioning the answer in above documents (to keep other from wondering

How about, in your /etc/sysconfig/network file adding or editing the line for IPV6 to be: NETWORKING_IPV6=no and then try a 'service network restart' and see what you get. Tinc is inserting a default route for ipv6 for some reason... default via 2600:3c01:e030:f2::1 dev tinc6 proto static metric 950 pref medium In my case the default route supplied by ra is still the correct thing, but I don't see where in the code tinc is inserting this route from.... which, as

Multi-user app
Hi All, Which is the best way to handle multi-user applications in Rails (think backpack)? Let me try to explain what I am trying to do: I wrote an application and sold it to different companies. For every company I sold the app to, I deployed a fresh Rails app to a fresh 256MB VPS and provided a superuser account (to the app, not the server). Customers handle their own users from there as

7.x and multiple IPs in jails
Hello all, I've been searching around and have come up with no current discussions on this issue. I'll keep it brief: In 7.0 or 7.1 is there any provision to have multiple IP addresses in a jail? I'm stumped on this, as I just started a new hosting project that needs a few jails. At least one of those requires multiple IPs, which is something I never really even realized was
