wine20050830 - can't run anything
Hi, I've had an older installation (taken from the Mandriva distro) that worked ok with some glitches, that I hoped will be partially eliminated with the newer version. I've succesfully compiled and installed the latest version. However when trying to run an application I receive following error: Protocol error:0x819cff0: no reply fd for request 7 what went wrong? default font size
Hi, since 20050628 (or slighlty earlier) the wine.config was obsoleted in favor of winecfg. However I can't find there a [font] section. How can I change the default system font, or more precisely change the resolution, so the letters would be bigger? CUIN Kaczy

samba 3.1 Mandrake 10.2
Hi I tried to search for the aneswer but this is simply to much to browse. And I am quite newbie. Problem: I created a public share, onto which I can log no problem, however I'd like to have homedirs available. I added few of the users I want to have this feature to smbpasswd but can't log in. The critical switch is a map to guest, as soon as I switch it from bad user to anything else.

epoll_ctl: Operation not permitted
Hi, I'm not exactly sure that this is caused by wine. But maybe someone have already met this. I have wine 20050628 setup on Mandriva Linux 10.2. I am seeing the stream of epoll_ctl: Operation not permitted in the .xsession-errors It take about a day to fill a 10G partition I think it is connected with audio card, so I switched off the audio system in wine (I don't need it anyway),

MDAC not installing
MDAC is proving to be a pain for me to install. I have so far had nothing but failure. Here is a breakdown of what I'm working from. I am using Ubuntu Linux (Hoary 5.04) and the 20050725 binary install from the instructions here: http://www.winehq.com/site/download-deb Wine installs fine and I can get some core software installed w/o a hitch. I am using the script from here to get IE6,

printer loss [susepro9.1]-mostly solved-samba the problem?
Hi, Thanks for the suggestions - the immediate problem is solved. I feel that a monstrous weight has been lifted. I tried the suggestions and the printer connection is back - wonderful!!!!! what a relief! I stopped the firewall and samba so it is one of them, or both which is causing the problem? I would vote for samba3 as the culprit because the printer loss occurred on both machines on a 2

CentOS4, KDE3.3 and 128 WEP
CentOS4 standard installation. I see that KwifiManager doesn't support 128 bit WEP which I need for other machines on the network, which is a bit of a blow - and rather surprising really as security should be quite a consideration on an enterprise level system (NB RH!). Is there a workaround? An alternative way of configuring my Belkin F5D6020 ver 2 card? eg a cvs download that I can get

Centos 7 guest - long delay on mounting /boot with host disk write cache off
Hello, I've noticed a strange delay while booting a CentOS 7 guest on a CentOS 7 host with slow disks (7200RPM) with write cache off. The guest and host are freshly installed Centos 7 (host was fully patched before guest install). Guest is installed on an lvm pool residing on an md raid1 with two SATA 7200 RPM drives with their write caches off. The delay is on mounting /boot, the dmesg

Cache sweeping and render_component (my mistake or Rails bug?)
Hi I''m working on a program which relies on heavy cache sweeper usage. I''ve just bumped onto an odd problem. When using render_component method in layouts or templates with cache sweeping turned on, Rails throws an exception with the following message: NoMethodError in TestController#index You have a nil object when you didn''t expect it! unhandled exception on 20050725 install from source on Fedora Core 4
I'm running FC4 with all the latest patches and kernel. I checked the basic requirements for installation for all necessary packages. Using the unpacked source, I installed by ./tools/wineinstall per the readme. I got a long series of errors well into the process, posted below - I've read the documentation and several help sites including this group and the user list but can't seem to

Problems with S4 methods dispatching on `...` (aka dotsMethods)
I attempted to fix it, and that example seems to work for me. It's also a (passing) regression test in R. Are you sure you're using a new enough R-devel? Great, thanks Michael for you quick response! I started off with a question on SO because I was not sure whether this was an actual bug or I was just missing something obvious. I'm looking forward to the patch. Cheers, Andrzej On Thu, Apr 20, 2017 at 10:28 PM, Michael Lawrence < lawrence.michael at gene.com> wrote: > Thanks for pointing out these issues.
