MSSQL ODBC Connections
Hi all,
The asterisk book states the following for using ODBC to connect to an
MS database.
? The pooling and limit options are quite useful for MS SQL Server and
Sybase databases. These permit you
to establish multiple connections (up to limit connections) to a
database while ensuring that each connection
has only one statement executing at once (this is due to a limitation

odbc to ms-sql server
Hi all,
I'm trying to set up an odbc connection to a ms-sql server from an
asterisk 1.6.1 install
My problem is that I cannot get asterisk to build func_odbc &
res_odbc.so
I installed yum -y install unixODBC unixODBC-devel libtool-ltdl
libtool-ltdl-devel
And then went on to reconfigure / recompile asterisk
after a ./configure --with-odbc=/usr/lib/
I get

MySQL Voicemail Storage Questions\Errors
I am running CentOS 5 with Asterisk 1.4.14. I am trying to setup storage of voicemail messages into MySQL. It is my understanding that I can only do this via ODBC. I installed per http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/CentOS+5+and+Asterisk+1.4.x+installation unixODBC unixODBC-devel libtool-ltdl libtool-ltdl-devel and mysql-connector-odbc. I reconfigured and built Asterisk, using menuconfig to

Executing Stored Procedure using ODBC MSSQL
Hello,
I'm trying to execute a stored procedure on a MSSQL Server from the dial plan, but it's not working. I'm getting the following error: Unable to execute query....
Asterisk has been compiled with UnixODBC, and I've done the necessary configurations in func_odbc, res_odbc and odbc.ini.
Has anyone done this before with success?

voicemail with odbc
Hi,
I have some issue with voice mail with ODBC on asterisk 11.7 box. I may not
understand database functionality on asterisk fully. The most suspected
area is func_odbc. I already googled but not luck. Your guide is warmly
welcomed

Authorize & Microsoft SQL
Hello Everyone,
I have an installation where the client has a Microsoft SQL database that holds all of their case information. They would like the asterisk system to require users to enter a valid case number when making an outgoing call. I?m seeing some documentation regarding people using Microsoft SQL for CDR storage, however nothing regarding validating authentication using a Microsoft SQL

While not in the email these are listed in the CHANGES and UPGRADE.txt
file. Going forward we'll try to ensure we include such things in the
release notes as well.

Recent UnixODBC Issues
Kia ora,
As many of you are aware (and for those who aren't) as part of Asterisk
13.8 changes went into the res_odbc module to more heavily leverage
UnixODBC connection management and pooling capabilities. Previously we
would use only a single connection to the database. Since this has been
released many individuals have reported crashes and apparent deadlocks
as a result of this change.

Asterisk Realtime unixODBC timeout?
How does one get asterisk to timeout realtime request via res_odbc to
unixODBC? I've set timeouts as appropriate for freetds (which
unixODBC is using.) However, it doesn't seem to work. It takes over 3
minutes to timeout a connection and queries never seem to timeout, so
a channel waiting on a query never terminates.
I did notice that res_odbc.c never sets a timeout on the query

Does cdr adaptive odbc re-connect automatically after a long idle time?
Hi all,
I use astersk 11.7.0 on Ubuntu 12.04.01 TLS (i386). I use cdr_adaptive_odbc
to write CDR to my MySQL's cdr table.
After my testing, this scenario is working well.
After a long idle time, I didn't make any call to the asterisk server.
When I try to make a call again after 8 hours, I found that the cdr lost.
It cannot be inserted to cdr table.
Also, I could not find the insert CDR

res_odbc.conf and odbc show
I have a mixed PBX system with both Asterisk 1.4.21 and 1.2.27 (moving to 1.2.28).
For now I need to keep a few boxes in 1.2 and not migrate them all to 1.4.
However, I would like to have func_odbc and res_odbc on all servers.
On 1.4.21, native func_odbc seems to work fine.
On 1.2.27, the func_odbc backport is giving me an error (I know that this backport is not "officially supported"
