context probably won't give you any insight into what it actually means, namely that because of X limitations, Wine can't actually change the screen depth and lies to the application instead. Usually this is fine; in fact I've never heard of it causing a problem. We really have no business printing that scary useless thing IMO. It should never be necessary to document these things.

by all means. Some trace messages are buggy and crash Wine. Use +relay at first. Then try to make sure that your code is actually run and causing the crash. I have never tried to use the wine debugger with a winelib program... Let's see : debugger/winedbg programs/uninstaller/uninstaller It works. What gives for your app ? If debugger won't work for you, you can always add an

Pagemaker Problems again (was: Pagemaker 6.5 Problems Wine-Message)
Hello again, I've now running wine20010326 according to Gerards Tips and Hints and I make several debugmsg events. First I was very surprised of the size of the debug-message (50 MB) and so I run every event singular (instead of --debugmsg +relay +text +string +file +dosfs) Hope someone could help me now with my problem when he reads the debug messages. Again I cannot position any Text

BG 2 shows "List index out of bounds (-1)"
Hi, I'm trying to run Baldur's Gate 2 from Bioware here; I installed natively under Windows since the installer would fail. I've been using winesetuptk on a Debian unstable system with latest Wine packages; before starting, I purged my previous wine setup and my user files so I would get a clean start. The winesetuptk found my native Win95 partition (on which BG2 works well) and uses

Debugging and userfriendliness
I've been playing this MMORPG (Mabinogi if anyone cares) for a while and it worked alright in Wine for the longest time (it still had some issues mostly because it was stupidly using Internet Explorer for so much of it..) until Hackshield updated and decided to throw the 0x00000108 error when initializing. So I figured I'd give the debugger a shot and try to figure out the issue to get

If someone has any ideas I would be very grateful. For those who want to or can help:

Groupwise errors
I'm trying to run the 32bit version of Groupwise. So far I can install it without any major hickups but when I actually start to run the Grpwise.exe it will prompt me to login to the groupwise mail server but bombs out with a debug xterm. It appears to be able to connect to the groupwise server ok for verifying the password. If I put in a bogus one it will tell me I have used the wrong

Okay, am trying to get ICQ2000b installed under Wine for my GF ... I use LICQ myself, she doesn't like it as much as her Windows version, says it offers more then licq ... I do have a Windows partition, and install goes beautifully ... If I try and run it after the install, the 'Loading...' comes up and then I start getting: fixme:win32:SetCriticalSectionSpinCount
