TLS, STRP and ARA
Hi
I'm just about to upgrade to version 1.8.29.0 and have compiled with SRTP.
However, we exclusively use the asterisk realtime architecture using the
mysql connector.
Looking at tutorials we have to set encryption=yes and transport=tls for
any peer we want encrypted traffic for.
Having a look at contrib/realtime/mysql/sippeers.sql from the source code
shows that the encryption column is

Is "tls cafile" ignored when ldap.conf is present?
Hi all,
My CUPS+Samba printserver authenticates to an OpenLDAP server for Linux
clients, and to AD LDAP for Windows clients.
However, OpenLDAP and AD started to use different certificate chains, so I
need to tell Samba to use different root CA cert when talking to AD DC.
In ldap.conf I have
tls_reqcert demand
tls_cacert /usr/share/ca-certificates/ca-openldap.crt
In smb.conf I'm trying to

Asterisk 11.10.2 update breaks snom TLS transport
Hey all,
I've recently updated an Asterisk installation to 11.10.2 (from the
Gentoo packaged build), and the update has (seemingly) broken TLS
transport for snom phones (I could reproduce on snom 3x0 and 7x0 with
8.4.3x and 8.7.x.y firmwares). What happens is that the registration to
the PBX is successful, and inbound calls work normally (i.e., when the
phone is being signalled that a

Set same TLS Root CA cert on all Samba DC's?
And will Samba regenerate it's own server certs from that CA, or do I need
to externally generate & renew them with openssl?
Does anything else need to be done before or after replacing the certs in
Samba? This won't break server/domain trust with domain joined workstations?
Thanks

Hi, I tried it the implementation of TLS in asterisk 1.8.4.3 on ubuntu
10.04. I follow the tutorial:
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Secure+Calling+Tutorial. and I
use blink as a softphone in ny client in windows. for regular communication
process (without TLS) smoothly, but when it just follow the tutorial, it is
always error on his softphone: transport error.

Set same TLS Root CA cert on all Samba DC's?

In smb.conf put a line, like this to let it use a specific ca-cert:
tls cafile = /etc/ssl/certs/ca.pem
Now it is just a matter of distributing that to all the DCs

Soft SIP phones that support TLS - Asterisk version 13.13.1
Microsip (Windows) is free and small.
2.5Mb download, 10Mb RAM usage, does everything I need and configuring
TLS is a doddle.

Ruby 1.8.7 + Rails 2.3.2 + TLS = Where's the documentation?
After spending a few hours reading dozens of blogs and tutorials I am
still stumped. Numerous sites mention ruby 1.8.7 and rails 2.3
supporting TLS out of the box. However, I can not find any documentation
on setting this up to send emails correctly. Furthermore, after
attempting to send emails using Gmail and TLS i get the following error:
530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first.

Commercial SSL certs on Asterisk 1.8.10.0 with Polycom phones for encrypted calls using TLS and SRTP?
Hi all,
We're testing TLS and SRTP on Asterisk 1.8.10.0 and have it working
with a commerical (not self-sign) AlphaSSL wildcard (GlobalSign) using
Blink Lite 1.6.2 as per
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Secure+Calling+Tutorial
We've tested with Bria on an iPhone and that doesn't recognised the
commercial CA (GlobalSign Root CA).
On a Yealink 28P with V60/V61 is registers

Looking for HOWTO for fc18 with postfix/TLS/imaps
Hi all,
Does there already exist a document that outlines the best approach to
implement postfix with dovecot? I'd like to set up a Maildir system
with TLS clients and SMTP Auth. I don't think I need to require client
certs, but want to avoid cleartext passwords.
It's unclear to me whether to use 143 with TLS or 993. I've currently
set it up using 143 with STARTTLS using normal

Problem with TLS/SRTP with Asterisk 11.8.1
Hi,
I followed the TLS/SRTP tutorial on the wiki [0] using Asterisk 11.8.1
on CentOS 6.5 x86_64 and CSipSimple on a Nexus with Android 4.4.x local
wifi. The phone seems to register but directly after that things fall
apart (turning SELinux off made no difference):

Buzzword bingo: TLS and SRTP
One of my clients today asked me about TLS support for encryption of
SIP payloads, and I didn't have an adequate answer as to why it
wasn't supported or even discussed. Some archive searching finds
scant mention of this in reference to Asterisk. Of course,
encrypting the SIP payload is only 1/2 the problem; the payload
itself is the next problem. I understand that IAX solves these

Asterisk 11.5.1 / TLS and Media Encryption / Blink as Client / no audio

I use Asterisk 11.5.1 and it works fine. :)
Now I want to use TLS and media encryption. I followed this guide:

When I place a call via Blink-Client (0.5.0) I get connected and Blink
shows 2 locks. The blue lock shows "Signaling is encrypted using TLS"
and the orange lock shows "Media is encrypted using
