Grandstream GXP2140
Hi Everyone. I have a customer looking to deploy about 20 Grandstream GXP2140 phones. Normally they would deploy Yealink brand phones but they want a phone with gigabit pass through and the Yealinks with gigabit are too expensive for their budget. Does anyone on the list have experience with the GXP2140? Is it a reliable phone? Does anyone have recommendations for other phones with gigabit

PJSIP Weirdness, or just my weirdness?
Hello! Oh, wise ones, ponder with me over two of the surprises that populate the universe! I have a phone, that I sometimes cannot reach, connected via pjsip. It can call other extensions just fine, it can call out over a trunk to my cell, all is well, but getting a call? Forget it most of the time. Here is all the config relevant to that phone: [murftest12] type=aor qualify_frequency=1992

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi List, I have come across the above handset a few times in the UK, They are quite cheap over here (~?80) Not the best handset in the world but works well enough. nextcloud files_external:notify: "Due to limitations of linux based SMB servers, this feature only works reliably on Windows SMB servers"
Hello everybody, I am wondering if anyone know more about the fact that the official nextcloud documentation states it does not work with linux based smb servers for notify support? https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/configuration_files/external_storage/smb.html "Due to limitations of linux based SMB servers, this feature only works reliably on Windows SMB

rebooting snoms in 1.6
With Asterisk 1.4 I could use commands like: /usr/sbin/asterisk -rx "sip notify reboot-snom mjc_home" to reboot a snom phone. Now, with 1.6, when I try that, I get: Unable to find notify type 'reboot-snom' Command 'sip notify reboot-snom mjc_home' failed. Do I need to add some magic to sip_notify.conf? I haven't quite figured out how to make it work. - Mike

PRI D-channel bouncing
I need some help getting a system running for one of my company's plants. I am running AsteriskNow 1.7 with Asterisk 1.6.2.10 and FreePBX 2.8.0.2. My D-Channel keeps bouncing. The telecom tech told me he thought that I might be using the wrong sync source, and I think I might have been, but I changed DAHDI system.conf to "span=1,1,0,ESF,B8ZS" (from

Rusting Snoms?
This is a bit off topic, because I 'think' it isn't an Asterisk problem. However I'm not sure and anyhow I'm hoping someone may recognize the symptom. We moved offices a month ago. Our trusty SNOM190s (all between 3 and 5 years old) were packed up for the move, then unpacked a couple of weeks later. On unpacking them and connecting them to the new network, several of

Snom (vs Polycom) - provisioning
Hi, I`m not actually asking for a comparaison between the two, I have one on hand and will make up my own mind. But I can't find much info on whether the Snom (370 to be exact) accepts FTP provisioning like the Polycom (but few others) do. Any Snom user can answer this one for me? DTMF and Snom
Hello list, I'm having some troubles with DTMF tones. When pressing numbers on a Snom phone, the DTMF-signal takes too long. I have the following in sip.conf : dtmfmode = rfc2833 which works well for Grandstream, Yealink and Cisco phones. But not for Snom. Snom support tells me I should use SIP info. Is it possible to have something like this : dtmfmode = rfc2833, info ?? Because

[OT] Yealink Phones
I've just started deploying these (well the T28P model) after years of Snom issues and they look pretty good (although the documentation is execrable; if you thought the Snom stuff was obtuse Yealink have got them knocked into a cocked hat!). Anyway, for provisioning I use HTTP with a DHCP entry like:- # # Yealink Phones # group { #

[OT] Yealink IP Phones
Hello all, After numerous issues with Snom phones (360/370/870) potentially looking to migrate too Yealink as their product range looks very promising indeed. Are any of you using them with Asterisk ? How do they perform ? Do you use mass deployment at all ? Would be very interested to hear from you. -- Thanks, Phil -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Problems with inbound connection and registering phone
I have two problems. The first is that when I dial my number from a phone on the Internet or any phone outside my LAN, Asterisk does not respond in any way, which means somehow my system is not picking up the fact that there's an incoming call to it. The second problem is that I thought I'd try an internal phone to see if I could get the hello-world stuff working at the least. I

Queue problem, ringing agents.
I'm running Asterisk 1.6.0.21 and Aastra 57i phones. I'm having an issue with the agent phones ringing when someone is in our queue. The first phone will ring 3 to 4 times then the call will roll over to the next phone as expected. However, any phone after the first one will only ring once and the wait between that phone and the next will be as if it if ringing 3 to 4 times. My
