Samba users spreading spam (or automated replies)
Hi
Some of the samba users are spreading spam or automated replies. Is
there any possible way to stop them?
I've got the following two messages after my first post which are
either spam or automated nonsense replies:

making automated console screenshots
Hi,
has one of you implemented something that records the current VNC
console view periodically?
I''m thinking of the following setup:
- find out how to make a vnc session from cli that just snips one
picture and logs off
- do that every minute
- set linux systems to have the panic=60 commandline option
- if a VM goes to crashed or shutdown state, stop saving new pictures,
archive the

Sending Automated Email Reminders?
If I wanted to send periodic email reminders, would a periodic sleep
interval work fine (e.g. sleep xxxxx), or would I need a task plugin
like BackgroundDRB?

challenge/response problem in 4.5.5
freely quoting from something I posted on #samba a couple of hours ago
###########
it appears that challenge/response is actually broken in 4.5.5 Have upgraded 4 dc's and now winbind/freeradius does not work.
focused on the radius box thinking that was the problem -- till I finally ran
wbinfo -a user%password
on all the dc's and they all behaved the same. -> plaintext succeeded

Dropped Calls
I've written about this issue several times, but have not yet found any
solution to it. I am using asterisk 1.4.21.2 and zaptel 1.4.12. Phones
are primarily Snom 300's but I also have a couple of headset phones
connected to Grandstream HT286 SIP adapters. I have 8 offices, each has
it's own asterisk server all running the same versions of asterisk and
Zaptel. Only difference

challenge/response problem in 4.5.5
configuration info
all of my domain controllers have been debian based samba tarball compiles. The tarballs have, when I've had a space to upgrade them, been the latest stable version. Only my temporary DC is a stock debian samba package.

Writing an automated install script
Hi!
We will start on writing an automated install script for Trados on spare time, Friday next week.
Up to then I have to prepared the script *in a way that a developer will understand what I want* and being responsible for testing it under Linux.
Basically it will be an automated script which will be timed, i.e. if no install_ok after 20 min, it would be hanging somewhere and will abort and

Suggestions to fix orphan dir cleanup
Hi all,
In 1.4 and 1.2 there is a hole that leaves orphans in a orphan directory
till fsck was run or recovery occurs on that slot.
In the current implementation, if node A did rm of a file while it is
opened by node B. Now if node A umounts and node B dies and is restarted
first, it only recovers itself leaving orphan file in node A's orphan
directory.
In order to fix the problem, I am

Automated RPMForge Repository Installation Script for Tips & Tricks section
Hello.
With the help of the community I finished polishing the translation of
my PHP script to Bash version
http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=20222&forum=38
It has now autodetection of architecture and CentOS version and handles errors.
I have published an article under my homepage here:

Understanding debugfs.ocfs2 output
This is related to the "No space on OCFS2 volume" error discussed here
this past Sep/Oct. Our Oracle support rep pointed us to Metalink note
#1232702.1 and suggested we should script something up to periodically
check the free contiguous blocks in the group chains for the volume in
question.
Reading the note, I get how to get Clusters per Group X Bits per Cluster

Remote Office, Centrally Shared Voicemail
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a remote office with its own Asterisk Server they'll
have a dedicated land line, but we'll still want them connected to the main
office via VOIP (IAX2 via VPN). I've tested using IAX2 to bridge between
the offices based on extensions, since the extensions we want to share are
in isolated blocks of numbers. I'm not sure how to handle voicemail though.
