srv records not being honoured properly
Given the following SRV records: _sip._udp.tollfree.sip-happens.com. 38400 IN SRV 10 0 5060 sometimes.sip-happens.com. _sip._udp.tollfree.sip-happens.com. 38400 IN SRV 20 0 5070 ares.sip-happens.com. Why is asterisk (1.4.17) not honouring the priority and not failing over to using other records when a connection fails? For a given call to tollfree.sip-happens.com ares.sip-happens.com was chosen

Setting up Security Groups
I appologize for the long, new-ish question, but after a few days of trying to work a solution by reading through the list archives and WIKI and coming up with what I thought would work, I think I'm just not getting a fine detail. I titled this thread "Setting up Security Groups" because I'm trying to set up some sip user groups with certain calling rights, e.g., one group of

e164.org and tollfree ENUM records
Recently, I've been having issues with the URIs returned from e.164.org and toll free calls. It seems that the URIs that are returned from ENUMQUERY and ENUMRESULT are no longer the proper numbering schemes that the poviders use. I've been using the following [enum] template in my outbound route for quite some time with great success until recently. [enum](!) exten =>

IAXTEL Inbound, and Outbound Tollfree Changes
Last night Mark and I made some changes to the IAXTEL tollfree outbound, and inbound access. The inbound access number has changed to: 248-724-0700. (This number is in Pontiac, MI Ratecenter, and is supplied by Telesthetic LLC, a next gen phone compnay) This number will say "Please dial your number now" at that point you can dial your 1-700-XXX-XXXX IAXTEL number assigned. In the

Any way to _always_ execute certain commands in a dialplan context?
I've got a need to do something like the following: [foo-context] exten => _.,1,SetCIDNum(123) exten => _.,2,SetCIDName(XYZ) include => local include => tollfree But of course, this example won't work. The goal here is this: if a call ends up being handled by the "local" or "tollfree" contexts, I want those SetCID*** commands executed. Otherwise, I

enum agi interesting problem
Hi, I am having a strange problem with enum and AGI. Here is what happens: I have in my agi something like that: foreach my $resolver ("e164.arpa", "e164.info", "e164.org") { my @enums = get_enums($phone, $resolver); foreach my $enum (@enums) { $dialstring = $enum .

IAX tollfree extension conf
Hi, I recall seeing a sample extensions.conf file that allowed tollfree calls to be routed via iaxtel to the US and the NL, but I must be going blind, because I've scoured the list but can't find it. Can someone send it to me if they have it? Much appreciated. Thanks! --- Paul Cheng M?ty?s kir?ly ut 10 H-1121 Budapest HUNGARY paul.cheng@alum.mit.edu mobile: +36 30 381-9311

looking for responsible iax provider, aftermath
Greetings, I'd like to thank everyone that has responded to my original email. I have received information from several companies, and will be testing several of them. I also would like to update a statement from my original message to clarify it: >My strikelist: nufone, voicepulse, iax/sixtel The strikelist is just a list of carriers that didn't meet the needs a resonable

EVERY toll free number appears to be in e164.org??
ENUM lookups at e164.org return a IP route for ALL toll-free numbers. I was surprised to observe that ALL toll-free numbers get a hit at e164.org. It appears that ALL toll-free prefixes have been delegated, thereby publishing an IP route for YOUR TOLL-FREE NUMBERS, my toll-free numbers, and even toll-free numbers that have not been allocated. :-) See below Should I care? Even though this

Dialing out If the AGI application dials outward by executing Dial, control over the call returns to the dialplan and the script loses contact with the Asterisk server. The script continues to run in the background by itself and is free to clean up and do post-dial processing. CallerID name lookup AGI script
Hi all, My VoIP provider (race.com) doesn't send name info with CallerID, so I wrote an AGI script that does the following: 1) If it's a toll free number (800|888|877|866), set the CallerID name to "TollFree Caller" 2) Use curl to look up the number in Google phonebook 3) If a business listing, set the CallerID name to business name, as is. 4) If it's a residential

better enumlookup handler
Does anyone have a better ENUM lookup handler than the built-in ENUMLOOKUP() function? The built-in function does not properly handle multiple return values such as: 8.9.9.3.2.8.8.6.6.8.1.e164.org has NAPTR record 200 10 "u" "E2U+SIP" "!^\\+1866(.*)$!sip:1866\\1 at tollfree.sip-happens.com!" . 8.9.9.3.2.8.8.6.6.8.1.e164.org has NAPTR record 200 10 "u"

Asterisk realtime
Hello, I'm using Realtime to select extensions out of a database so that we can provision inbound tollfree on the fly. Once I 'catch' the inbound, I want to "get out" of realtime and use the regular extensions again. I thought I could just use the goto statement and go to another context/entension in the 'non-realtime world'. Is this not possible? Is it all or

Soundfiles adding during phone calls
I want to add some sound filed on demand during a phone call only possible on some extension numbers. I get many phone calls from local companies, but don't understand Chinese! I would like to record the call, but also ask the caller some questions, which should be added into the call with some keys on the phone, ... e.g. *66554 should add into the call: How are you? or What is your
