Hacking attempt, Asterisk 1.4
Hi all
We have an Asterisk server that?s been running for a few years now without
problems. We have IPTables running, as well as fail2ban and have followed
all the security recommendations we have found.
Every few weeks we get an attack that lasts about a minute or two, resulting
in our AGI script being overloaded.
What happens is that somebody seems to be trying to connect from our

ODBC problem - static realtime file not loading
Hi all
I'm trying to configure my Asterisk setup to load the musiconhold.conf file from an ODBC connection to MySQL, working through the example given in the excellent book "Asterisk: The Definite Guide". I'm using Asterisk 1.4.19 and MySQL 5.1.58. I've configured the ODBC bit and in my GeneralLog on MySQL I can see the asterisk user connecting and sending a few SQL

How can I get RVM/Passenger/Apache2 to play nicely together
Hello all,
Can anyone point me to any solid documentation on how to set up a
production server using RVM, Passenger, and Apache2? I have been at
this for a week with absolutely no luck at all so I thought I would
post here to see if anyone has managed to get this to work and written
down the steps they used.
Right now with my current implementation, I am getting a 404 error

Hangup after n seconds using originate ?
Hi All,
I would like to know if you can confirm that, if using origination via AMI, as documented here:
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+Manager+API+Action+Originate
it is not possible to set the max duration of a call.
I mean: what you would do with the L (limit) parameter of the command Dial,
is not possible when originating.
As well as using the absolute timeout, as documented

Running asterisk 1.2.7 with latest zaptel on centos4.4. with Aastra 55i phones. Local outbound calling works fine, but ATT requires clients enter 7 digit code for long distance. All calls with 7 digit code are lost within 20 seconds of the call. This is the message I?m getting:

Asterisk hangup all outging calls after 32 seconds
(Sorry, but my english is not good)
Hi,
I have a problem with my new asterisk instalation. I search in google
but I couldn't find nothing.
Here's the thing.
Before, we have 2 asterisk servers, each one with a E1 card. one with a
Digium TE105 and the another with a A104 and we have a very simple
setup.
A Linux IBM X4300 Server is running CentOS 5.4 + Asterisk 1.6.2 (one

No subject
e might have something to do with Circuit Switching. I am guessing that the=
CSTele server establishes a virtual switching circuit to the queue server =
and trunk server, possibly through a separate network card (servers 3,4 and=
5 all have an extra ethernet card without fixed IP address).

Filesystem returned to state of six months ago after fsck
Recently our sysadm accidentally powercycled our server (RedHat8) after 198 days of uptime, and upon boot it insisted on checking one partition (/dev/sda7) in our RAID. When it was done, the files were in the state of August 23 last year, with anything newer either gone or invisible. I guess something went wrong with journaling data. What can I do to restore the current state (except restore from

Can you restate your question so that it's clear what version you are
running, what hardware you are running it on, what you expect to happen,
and what is happening instead?

Rtools contains Python interpreter(s), and six copies?
I've just discovered that Rtools (on Windows) contains Python
interpreter(s).
I'm assuming that Python is required to build R packages, on all operating
systems.
I think this is a mistake.
Also, by my count, Rtools contains six Python interpreters.
I've miscounted, I hope...
