Correct Localized Numbers on Plots, related to glibc!
Dear R Helpers, I want to localize my plots, i.e. the numbers by x & y axis be Persian, using Persian numerals and Persian decimal separator. I change the locale to fa_IR.utf8, but nothing on plots change. I can change the numerals shaping to Persian ones (???? instead of 1234) using some non-standard fonts but the decimal point is a problem. I asked about that in Persian-Computing mailing

Installing xaudio2 (Serious Sam Second Encounter HD)
Is there a way to install xaudio2 without using the large `winetricks directx9' ? I copied that .dll inside the game directory, but the game starts soundless and it shows an error about an non-updated xaudio2. A part of the lack of the audio the game runs

RFC: New dependency on FFmpeg?
I have a working implementation of the new xaudio2 API in my tree. Microsoft is treating it as a replacement for dsound[1], and as a result, this new API is used by lots of recent games; see Bug 26808[2] for some examples. Most games that use the xaudio2 API use a version of Microsoft's WMA codec. Wine doesn't currently have the ability to decode this audio for playback. In order for the

Function to recognise convert dates between gregorian and other calendars (e.g. Persian)?
Dear list, I will shortly have some data that contains numeric dates in the Persian / Jalali calendar format, which I would like to convert to gregorian.
