CentOS 6 and IPv6 neighbor proxy
To route a subnet in ipv6 there are two possibilities:
- add route commands for the subnet in each computer
- or use neighbor proxy in the router server
I prefer neighbor proxy.
So I have to activate neighbor proxy in the router:
sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.proxy_ndp=1
and I have to add entries for each client in the subnet like
ip -6 neigh add proxy

Any work on Samba service discovery in workgroups?
I'm not so up-to-date in Samba development progress, and I have a
question. Is anyone now working in Samba service discovery on workgroup
networks (without DC or AD)?
I recently wrote xllmnrd, an IPv6 LLMNR responder daemon so as to make
Samba and other local neighbor servers accessible on IPv6 by their host
names but it hasn't solved the problem that Samba servers don't appear on

CentOS 6 IPv6: neighbor and restart network
Hallo,
for using the ipv6 neighbor functions, I have to execute commands like
ip -6 neigh add proxy 2001::211:d8ff:fe97:3273 dev eth0
to publish the ip of computers in the subnet.
To execute them on reboot, I have included these commands in /etc/rc.d/rc.local
Also after each restart of the network, I have to execute these commands too.
So: how can I always execute
/etc/rc.d/rc.local

IPv6 on Centos 6
We've been running ipv6 for a year or so now, but some of our newer
instances (all on an ESX cluster) are not working. It looks like it's
all of our Centos 6 instances. I'm hoping someone can point me in the
right direction...
tshark indicates that it's neighbor discovery that's failing:
<centos666.peak.org> [26] # cat ../network

Samba, IPv6, turning off NetBT and Network discovery
Hi,
I hope this hasn't already been discussed to death, but I didn't find the answer through Google.
In short, my question is: how can I advertise a Samba server through UPnP/Network Discovery? I'm currently using Samba 3.2.6, but should be able to upgrade if needed.
I am trying to build an IPv6-only network, for now just for testing purposes. The problem I am having is that

RADVD and default IPv6 gateway
the man page for RADVD says:
radvd is the router advertisement daemon for IPv6. It listens to
router
solicitations and sends router advertisements as described in
"Neighbor
Discovery for IP Version 6 (IPv6)" (RFC 2461). With these
advertise-
ments hosts can automatically configure their addresses and some
other
parameters. They also can choose

Nearest Neighbor Algorithm in R -- again.
Several of the methods I use for analyzing large data sets, such as
WinGamma: determining the level of noise in data
Relief-F: estimating the influence of variables
depend on finding the k nearest neighbors of a point in a data frame or
matrix efficiently. (For large data sets it is not feasible to compute
the 'dist' matrix anyway.)

Folders with ~ (tilde) slow to save
I tried to close everything I had open and filter as best as I could..
but left random lines in just in case it helps.
172.16.5.230 is my local machine and *.33.235 is the server.
This is a slow save..

fast nearest-neighbor in R?
Is fast nearest-neighbor functionality available in R?
I was thinking of something along the lines of what's
currently in S+SPATIALSTATS.
Thanks for any information anyone might have on this.

[A-bit-OT] Power Over Ethernet Discovery process
Hi,
Since someone asked, here's how POE standard does discovery
process for a POE device. of course is a passive detection...
but that's why you don't have POE always-on on a POE enabled
switch port....
you can find more info in article area of

and full specs @ http://www.ieee802.org/3/af/index.html
You will find a resistance value in the quote

Subgroup discovery in R
I would very much like to apply "subgroup discovery" techniques to some
of the data I am analyzing at this moment.
Subgroup discovery is an interesting approach and is quite well known in
the Data Mining community, though in essence it is a purely statistical
approach.
To read an introductory article see "Subgroup discovery and visualization
methods"

Discriminant Adaptive Nearest Neighbor
Dear R users,
Is there anyone who is aware of a R or S package that has Discriminant
Adaptive Nearest Neighbor (DANN) classification by Hastie and Tibshirani?
I have used the search services in R website but no luck.
Thanks in advance!
Jonathan
