Can't get LocalForward to work when using ControlPath
Hello All-- First, thanks for ControlPath/ControlMaster. It's very handy, and ControlMaster=autoask is just what i wanted! I'm having difficulty with a common use case, however. I want to LocalForward on secondary connections using an already-established ControlPath. From what i can tell, the second ssh connection doesn't report any errors, but silently ignores the supplied

RFE: DynamicForward on ~C commandline and via ControlMaster
Hiyas, currently the commandline that can be reached via ~C cannot create new DynamicForwards. This is a feature I really miss, therefore it would be nice, if it could be implemented, e.g. -D 12345 should open a new socks proxy on port 12345 on the local machine. Also I want to ask what the status on allowing additional a {Local,Remote,Dynamic}Forward using in combination with ControlMaster

sshd 4.2p1 LocalForward interface binding
There seems to be a change in the logic that sshd uses in selecting interface to bind for LocalForward requests from the client. I have the following setup: ssh client (10.0.0.1) configured with "LocalForward 1080 127.0.0.1:1080" is connecting to sshd server (192.168.0.1). Before installing openssh-4.2p1 sshd would successfully establish a forwarding connection for the client:

print unreachable forwarding destinations?
When using LocalForward or DynamicForward sometimes the endpoint does no longer exist but I need to find out *which* endpoint exactly. For example: $ ssh -D 1234 server.example.net On the client, maybe in another terminal: $ curl --socks5-hostname localhost:1234 http://does-not-exist.local curl: (97) connection to proxy closed As expected. But on the server (OpenSSH 8.4), the following is

LocalForward and RemoteForward bind patch
FINALLY, it's here. You can now tell SSH which address to bind to for every single port forwarding option! This patch allows you to pass the following as ssh command line options: ssh -L 192.168.1.55:1234:localhost:80 -R ::11:22:aa:bb/80/localhost/80 etc. Or as normal config file options: LocalForward ::11:22:33/1234 localhost/80 RemoteForward 1.2.3.4:80 localhost:80 It will also

Timing of banner
A user at a Windows PC uses our SSH client software (Anzio) to access a Linux sshd. User would like the banner from the server to display BEFORE entering a login name. According to the SSH spec, this should be allowed. But the OpenSSH source seems to have specifically prevented this. Is there a good reason for this? problem joining the domain
We've encountered a problem with getting a newly installed Samba based machine to join the domain. Here's the command line and error response: [root@chain samba]# smbpasswd -j COLUMBIA -r cmc-bkup -U murphyn Password: error creating domain user: NT_STATUS_INVALID_DOMAIN_ROLE Unable to join domain COLUMBIA. embedded spaces in group names
Hello, Many of our NT domain groups have names that contain embedded spaces, like "Domain Admins". When I attempt to use winbind and assign rights via those groups the granting fails. Group names without embedded spaces, like "Domain_Admins" work fine. In smb.conf I've tested specifying the name as: "DOMAIN+Domain Admin" DOMAIN+Domain\ Admin and

Update on protection against slowloris
Hi list! We tested mod_antiloris 0.4 and found it quite efficient, but before putting it in production, we would like to hear some feedback from freebsd users. We are using Apache 2.2.x on Freebsd 6.2 and 7.2. Is anyone using it? Do you have any other way to patch against Slowloris other than putting a proxy in front or using the HTTP accept filter? Thanks for your feedback, Martin
