playing around with removing algos
Example, 'Macs'. On the man page I read: "Multiple algorithms must be comma-separated. ... If the specified value begins with a '-' character, then the specified algorithms (including wildcards) will be removed" It seems that just one algo name is supported on such a line, example: Macs -umac-64* But this form is not supported: Macs -umac-64*,-hmac-sha1* nor is

Sending Signal to remote process
I want ssh to forward the SIGTERM signal to the remote command. Example: ssh root at localhost /root/print-signal.py Get PID of ssh: ps aux| grep print-signal Kill the matching ssh process: kill pid-of-ssh Unfortunately only the ssh process itself gets the signal, not the remote command (print-signal.py). The remote command does not terminate :-( How can I make ssh

Histogram
Dear all, I have a surprising problem with the representation of frequencies in a histogram. Consider, for example, the R code: b<-rnorm(2000,3.5,0.3) hist(b,freq=F) When I plotted the histogram, I expected that values in the y-axis (the probability) varied between 0 and 1. Instead, they varied within the range 0-1.3. Have you got any suggestion for obtaining a correct graph with

MS Word unable to sense file opening by other users
Thank you for answering. I am testing Samba 3.0.1Pre1 on RH9 . MS Word 97 keeps opening already opened files without sending any warning as it would normally do when accessing W2K servers. Same program , same files behave differently with Samba and W2K. However, I found that Powerpoint is nevertheless able to sense correctly the situation by always giving such warnings - " test.ppt is

linkage disequilibrium
Dear all, I'm using the package "Genetics", and I'm interested in the computation of D' statistics for Linkage Disequilibrium, for which the LD() command has been realised. Unfortunately I don't find any reference on "how" the D' is computed by the LD() function. In the package documentation it is generally referred as "MLE" estimation, but
