Patch: sftp client support of "ls [flags] [path [localfile]]" feature
Hello,
I just downloaded OpenSSH 3.5p1. This version has some great improvement in
sftp client.
But I still miss the FTP's "ls [flags] remote-path [localpath]" feature to
redirect the output of ls/dir
to a local file.
The following are the diff outputs against 3.5p1 to enable this feature.

Problem in sftp 'ls' command output
Hello,
I have recently moved from OpenSSH 3.6 to 3.7 (portable version) :
[pyb at nihao tmp]$ ssh -v
OpenSSH_3.7p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0.9.6h 5 Dec 2002
(okay, the SSL release is a little old but that's not the subject).
I am also using scripts to perform automated sftp transfers between some
systems. The 3.7 release of OpenSSH broke my scripts, which made me sad
and my

Incorporating code from sftp-glob.c into lftp
As you might know, LFTP is a popular FTP/SFTP command-line client for
most systems. One feature that is lacking from this tool is the
ability to do a globbed ls via sftp. I have a patch ready for LFTP
that incorporates some of the knowledge [like oddball systems glob()
handling] and some of the code from sftp-glob.c for this tool to add
this capability. I do, however, have some questions about

I've been generating functions using a builder and then
compiling them with ExecutionEngine::getPointerToFunction().
Is there some way I can get compilable IR from that?
Cheers,
Gary

Should there be a process listening on port 135?
I'm running samba 4.1.2 on Linux Mint 15. Getting the following:
?
./samba-tool drs kcc samba-realm
Failed to connect host 192.168.231.132 on port 135 - NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED
Failed to connect host 192.168.231.132 (samba-realm) on port 135 - NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED.
I don't see samba or smbd listening on port 135. 53 and 137 are. e.g.:

Unicall acting really funny
Hello guys!
I hope you bare with yet another newbie on the list! :-)
I am trying to setup an asterisk installation in between a Siemens
HiPath 3800 and my local carrier (Telefonica/Brazil). Both running R2.
ISDN is not an option on the carrier. :-(
I could apparently setup both E1s just fine according to zttool
(both OK with no alarms) but, and this is where it starts to get

Route globbing in Rails 3 beta 3
I was just playing around with the new routing dsl to answer someone''s
question on the general rails forum.
I wanted to see how Rails3 handled globbed routes. So I added this
to routes.rb
get ''forum/*path'' , ''forum#show''
And had the show action just display the params.
with a URL of /forum/a/b/c
I got {"path" => "a/b/c"}

sftp needs a long time for sending a filelist
Hello all
Im using sftp 1:4.7p1-8ubuntu1.2
in a batchjob
Ive noticed that sftp needs a long time for sending a filelist.
The timespan increases exponential if many files are on the
remoteserver.
for example "ls -la *.txt" needs 10 seconds for 2000 files
but needs 50 seconds for 4000 files.
For 150.000 Files i have to wait 15 minutes for example
but the

sorting by creation time in ls()
When trying to remember what did I do in the session, especially after
coming back to it after a few days, I'd like to mimic Unix's ls -ltrh
-- does R retain the timing a certain variable is created? If not,
would it make a useful addition, to have ls with an option to sort by
creation time?
Cheers,
Alexy

sorting by creation time in ls(), , * This message: [ Message body ] [ More options
You could do it indirectly by saving your command history (a good idea
in any case :-) ), doing {something} to dump it to a file, and
sorting/seeking to see in what order you created items.
Or, if you're really creative ^_^, write some sort of script/function
which automatically creates a metafile (e.g. if the variable is VAR, the
metafile is .VARtime) from the output of date().
