openssh 3.1p1 & autoconf 2.53
If I leave the openssh sources untouched, it works fine with paths
containing a comma (,). But after just running autoconf (without touching
anything else), configure chokes on these paths:
=== Begin screenshot ===
configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating Makefile
sed: -e expression #1, char 435: Unknown option to 's'

[PATCH 0/2] virtio/s390 patches for 4.8
Michael,
here are two virtio/s390 patches for 4.8.
First, Jing Liu noticed that she could trigger panics while playing
around with hvc0 as preferred console but no virtio console: This
can be fixed by not discarding our early_put_chars after init (as
the minimal fix).
This made us wonder why we still have that code around when no current
host code supports the old transport: We have no idea

[PULL 1/5] tools/virtio/ringtest: fix run-on-all.sh for offline cpus
From: Halil Pasic <pasic at linux.vnet.ibm.com>
Since ef1b144d ("tools/virtio/ringtest: fix run-on-all.sh to work
without /dev/cpu") run-on-all.sh uses seq 0 $HOST_AFFINITY as the list
of ids of the CPUs to run the command on (assuming ids of online CPUs
are consecutive and start from 0), where $HOST_AFFINITY is the highest
CPU id in the system previously determined using lscpu.

[PATCH 2/2] virtio/s390: deprecate old transport
There only ever have been two host implementations of the old
s390-virtio (pre-ccw) transport: the experimental kuli userspace,
and qemu. As qemu switched its default to ccw with 2.4 (with most
users having used ccw well before that) and removed the old transport
entirely in 2.6, s390-virtio probably hasn't been in active use for
quite some time and is therefore likely to bitrot.

RemoteForward and dynamically allocated listen port
Specifying a RemoteForward of 0:example.com:1234 dynamically allocates
the listen port on the server, and then reports it to ... the client!
Where it is practically useless. Was this someone's idea of a joke?
Presumably not--there are some technical obstacles to reporting it to
the remote process. I'd like to help solve that problem.
The natural way to me would be to extend the syntax

Unbootable machine
Hello Peter & Jeremy,
I've found an ordinary desktop PC (with Phoenix Award BIOS 6.00PG) that
won't boot off a USB stick created by livecd-tools-024 with syslinux
(tested both versions 3.75 and 3.81).
The boot process drops to the "boot:" prompt with an error message:
could not find kernel image: linux
The same USB stick boots fine on any other computer I could find.
