Does ssh need sendfd in pledge() call?
Hi,
I posted this question to the OpenBSD bugs list last week, however
I have had no reply and it was suggested on IRC that I post here
instead. So I must apologise if this is not appropriate.
For a reference here is my previous post:

StreamLocal forwarding
Hi folks,
(3rd time I am sending this message, none of the other appear to have
made it through!)
Using "OpenSSH_6.9p1 Ubuntu-2ubuntu0.1, OpenSSL 1.0.2d 9 Jul 2015" on
the server, "OpenSSH_7.2p2, OpenSSL 1.0.2g 1 Mar 2016" on the client.
I am trying to use sshtunnel with StreamLocal forwarding to enable me
to connect back to the client's ssh port, without having to

StreamLocal forwarding
Hi,
The code definitely attempts to unlink any old listener
beforehand (see misc.c:unix_listener()) so I don't understand why
that isn't being called. You might try simulating your configuration
using sshd's -T and -C to make sure the flag is correctly being set.
Could chroot be interfering? Some platforms implement additional
restrictions on devices and sockets inside chroot.

ExitOnForwardFailure and Protocol 2.0
I'm merging my "streamlocal" unix domain socket forwarding patch into 4.4p1
(or rather 20060926 SNAP) and I gather that the ExitOnForwardFailure
capability only works for protocol 1.0.
Am I misreading things? I was really looking forward to that feature.
I noticed when I began fixing a merge reject in
channel_request_remote_forwarding().

Why ssh client breaks connection in expecting SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS state?
I have a client host that I don't have access to now, which attempts to
establish ssh connection back to my BSD server using the private key.
Client runs this command:
/usr/bin/ssh -i ~/.ssh/my_key_rsa -o "ExitOnForwardFailure yes" -p
$HPORT $HUSER@$HOST -R $LPORT:localhost:$LPORT -N
On the server debug log looks like this:
Connection from NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN port 43567
debug1: HPN

X11 forwarding does not work as normal user
We installed openssh 3.1p1 on our Solaris 2.8 machine using gcc 2.95.2. During
the installation, we modified ssh_config and sshd_config to enable X11 and
agent forwarding.
In sshd_config, we changed the following line to read:
X11Forwarding yes
In ssh_config, we changed the following two lines to read:
ForwardAgent yes
ForwardX11 yes
Both files are set to permission readable

SSH crash on OpenBSD (pledge related?)
Hello,
I just ran upon this problem and couldn't find it in bugzilla.
SSH crashes (abort trap) if all of the following conditions are met:
(a) option -f is used (crash happens when going to background),
(b) reverse port forwarding is set up (option -R),
(c) option ExitOnForwardFailure is enabled,
(d) there are no actual port-forwarding failures.
The problem can be reproduced by

[Bug 333] X11 forwarding not working in OpenSSH 3.4p1
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333
------- Additional Comments From stevesk at pobox.com 2002-07-04 05:41 -------
i will guess configure did not find an xauth when
it was built ($PATH is irrelevant here). please
verify.
see $HOME/.ssh/rc example in sshd.8 which can be used
as a workaround in this case.
djm: autoconf-2.53 exposes a bug for xauth path detection.

2.9p1 SCO OS 5.0.5 server and Linux client hang on exit when using X11 forwarding and protocol 2
When I run this command:
ssh -1 -v -n -l root njdb1b /usr/bin/X11/xterm -sb -sl 1000 -T njdb1b -e find /etc
An xterm appears on my screen, the contents of /etc scroll by and then ssh exits.
When I invoke the same command with the -2 option, the xterm appears (and disappears) but
ssh never exits. netstat says the (ssh) connection is still established but the xterm
is no longer

OpenSSH 5.1: call for testing
Hi,
OpenSSH 5.1 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing
on as many platforms and systems as possible. This release is one of
the biggest in recent years, with two hackathons' worth of improvements
and fixes for some of our most recalcitrant bugs.
Snapshot releases for portable OpenSSH are available from
