Implementing Shares
Hi! I am using RHL 5.2 and Samba 2.0.2. I have the SAMBA acting as the PDC in the network where most of the clients are Win95. Earlier we had a Novell Netware Network and I decided to shift over to Linux/Samba. I am having trouble implementing certain shares. The exact problem is described below: I want ONLY 'nhs' and 'vhs' to have read only access to '/usr/iso9001/edp'

nouveau "eDP-1: EDID is invalid" regression after 4.11 with HP ZBook 15 G3
Hi, The HP ZBook 15 G3 laptop builtin display (eDP-1) does not work correctly with v4.11-11413-g2868b25. When booting the laptop, the resolution seems to be limited to 1024x768, and gnome-session segfaults. Up to 4.11 the display works just fine in 1920x1080 mode. I'm seeing this in the kernel logs: nouveau 0000:01:00.0: eDP-1: EDID is invalid: [00] BAD 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff 00 ff

This is a follow-up to the v1 posted in April: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dri-devel/2015-April/081515.html Patches 1 - 17 enable GPU switching on the pre-retina MacBook Pro. v4.12 backport request: 13a86519202 (drm/nouveau/i2c/gf119-: add support for address-only transactions)
Commit df8dc97cd17 (drm/nouveau/kms/nv50: use drm core i2c-over-aux algorithm) switched things over to the drm algo. Unfortunately it generates address-only transactions. Prior to GF119, the hardware had no support for such things, and GF119+ the nouveau code did not handle these properly. The result of this bug is that EDID doesn't make it over for DP (and eDP) screens, which in turn wreaks

[PATCH v2] drm/nouveau: Fix nouveau_connector_ddc_detect()
It looks like that when we moved over to using drm_connector_for_each_possible_encoder() in nouveau, that one rather important part of this function got dropped by accident: /* Right v here */ for (i = 0; nv_encoder = NULL, i < DRM_CONNECTOR_MAX_ENCODER; i++) { int id = connector->encoder_ids[i]; if (id == 0) break; Since it's rather difficult to notice: the

Display broken after resume from suspend
Hi Joshua, Not a fix for your issue, but Ben noticed this (and fixed it): https://github.com/skeggsb/nouveau/commit/024bda7d2b0c3b0731433d60a494c78ab58cb216 which is what causes us to even try 540MB/s link training. However with this fix applied, it'll just give up faster. I'm told eDP is generally a single lane, and you're trying to get more than 270MB/s. So ... the question is ...

[PATCH] drm: default scaling to NONE for external connectors
Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- Based on a recent discussion in #radeon, and also my own observation that the 'full' scaling causes no end of confusion among users. See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80868 for some more details, although it is more radeon-specific. Side-note: the scaling mode update handler disallows setting the mode to none
