[Bug 1953] Implementation of xattr in sftp-server for sshfs
https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1953 --- Comment #3 from Christoph Anton Mitterer <calestyo at scientia.net> --- Does anyone know whether anything is going on with SFTP (especially also with repsect to ACLs and XATTRs)? More than a year ago we saw this http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-moonesamy-secsh-filexfer-00 which apparently tried to restart the draft-ietf-secsh-filexfer

[Bug 1953] Implementation of xattr in sftp-server for sshfs
https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1953 --- Comment #8 from Christoph Anton Mitterer <calestyo at scientia.net> --- What a pity... it seemed to be something quite useful for many cases. AFAIU, the only reason not to support it was staying at the base level of the sftp "standard"... however, OpenSSH goes in so many places way beyond the standards... -- You are

https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1953 --- Comment #9 from Christoph Anton Mitterer <calestyo at scientia.net> --- Especially since Eberhard's patch doesn't them *that* intrusive to other parts of openssh, wouldn't simply be possible to use something like RFC 2389,... so server and client could negotiate whether things beyond the basic features are supported and

SFTP Logging Redux.
Sorry to repost, but I finally have the code on a machine that has diff -u, and I've updated it for 2.9p2. Attached is the unified diff to add logging of SFTP activity to auth.info. If there is a more proper way to contrib patches, please let me know. Cheers, Jason # "Jason A. Dour" <jason at dour.org> http://dour.org/ # Founder / Executive Producer - PJ

--fake-super and xattr between Linux and Solaris 10
Hello trusty rsync list, I'm excited about --fake-super as it will replace too much work with none at all. I have gotten it to work under linux and I have a fair grasp with what is happening there. I have a problem, though, and that is, in the long term, I'll need to archive my Linux systems not to a Linux box, but to a Solaris 10 box. I understand that Solaris does have extended

SFTP support for subsecond times
Hello, This is probably a long email, but please bear with me. I plan to submit a patch and would like to explain what I will do before doing it so I don't lose time if there's some flaw in my plan. I currently use sshfs to mount directories from some computers and a NAS into other computers. I recently noticed that when copying some files from one computer into one of these sshfs

sftp can't preserve uploaded mtime: fsetstat: No such file or directory
I'm connecting to "EFT Server" https://www.globalscape.com/eft and it has an SFTP module. It has nothing to do with OpenSSH, but enterprise likes it for some reason. I don't control the server. Looks like EFT doesn't support SSH2_FXP_FSETSTAT (working with a file handle), but it does support SSH2_FXP_SETSTAT (working with a file path). OpenSSH sftp only uses

How to set an attribute for a link?
Hi, I am working on fuse4x (fuse for macosx) and sshfs. And I discovered a bug with sshfs when copying a link over sshfs is failed. It happens because sshfs tries to invoke SETSTAT on a link when target is not copied yet. I checked sshfs sources and found that it uses SSH_FXP_SETSTAT operation. https://github.com/fuse4x/sshfs/blob/master/sshfs.c#L2287 SSH_FXP_SETSTAT sets attributes to target

sftp can't preserve uploaded mtime: fsetstat: No such file or directory
I've just tried that. It still fails. Is it possible to dump the decrypted sftp commands? I tried -vvv but found nothing interesting. The Total Commander plugin calls: libssh2_sftp_setstat(ConnectSettings->sftpsession, thename,&attr) What does the command line client use? -------- Original Message -------- From: Brian Candler [mailto:b.candler at pobox.com] Sent:

can't list directories in ftp
Hey list, Sorry for all the questions today. But I am trying to wrap up this ftp business and still having some issues. I appreciate your input. SELinux is temporarily disabled (until I can work this all out) and I am now able to log into the FTP server. [root at LCENT05:~] #/usr/bin/ftp localhost Connected to localhost (127.0.0.1). 220 FTP Server ready. Name (localhost:root): bluethundr

cant login remotely proftpd
Hello list! Well I have delved back into my proftpd config in the hopes of resolving my issues and having a working server. :) I believe I have the passive mode issue that I was expereriencing last time mostly worked out. But there are still a couple of things going on with this config that I was hoping to run by you in hopes of finding a solution. If I execute an ftp session on localhost

mysql authentication in proftpd
Hello list, I was able to get passive mode worked out. I'm really glad I was able to do this. I'm able to log into the ftp server, list directories, enter subdirectories and upload/download files. However my next task is to enable virtual users using mysql. I have installed proftpd-mysql and enabled the sql modules in the config. I found a good article on how to do this here:
