tcpip-forward with port 0 and 'want reply'
RFC 4254 says, in regards to the "tcpip-forward" request message: Section 7.1 ... If a client passes 0 as port number to bind and has 'want reply' as TRUE, then the server allocates the next available unprivileged port number and replies with the following message; otherwise, there is no response-specific data. byte SSH_MSG_REQUEST_SUCCESS uint32 port that was bound

Experimental -R support patch for openssh client
Hi ! Here's an experimental patch for openssh-2.1.1p4 to add support (to openssh client) for -R (protocol 2). So if you have access to a commercial ssh2 server (that allows port forwardings) could you test this patch. (Note the openssh server doesn't have support for -R with protocol 2 so testing with openssh server won't do much good). To test remember to use -o "Protocol

Dynamic port remote listener - a BUG?
Hello, Today I tried using "dynamically assigned" port for remote listener, by requesting listener on port 0. This is supposed to create a listener on a port choosen by server. Everything seemed OK (the choosen port was sent back to client), but forwarding was refused. So I checked the source. in channels.c, function: channel_setup_fwd_listener /* *

Protocol 2 remote forwarding patch
Hi ! Here's a patch to add remote port forwarding support (protocol 2) for openssh. I have tried to test that it works like it should but a more thorough testing is needed. This patch adds both client/server support. The patch should be applied to openssh-2.1.1p4 source tree. Also included is a PortForwarding sshd_config option, new ./configure option --disable-forwarding that should make it

Protocol 2 remote forwarding patch
Hi all, I'm very new in this list, as looking for codes to plug up the lack of functionality of "Protocol 2 Remote Forwardig". Fortunately, I could find it in MARC's archive. Mr. Jarno Huuskonen posted the codes in Sept, last year, and I tried applying it to my FreeBSD box environment. I couldn't apply an original patch, of course, for incompatibility of virsion. The

Building libsk-libfido2.so?
I updated to the latest versions of libfido2 and openssh-portable tonight, with an intention to test out the security key functionality and look closely at the changes over the last couple of months to see if I need to change anything in my AsyncSSH implementation to stay in sync. However, it seems that libfido2 no longer provides the ?libsk-libfido2.so? library that it used to. That was something

'cancel-tcpip-forward' is not supported.
Hi there, I'm developing ssh client in pure java and, recently, I'm trying to improve the port forwarding support on that stuff. However, it seems to me that sshd of OpenSSH has not supported 'cancel-tcpip-forward' request. http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-secsh-connect-17.txt says that | A port forwarding can be cancelled with the following message. |

DOS-Client with TCPIP and SAMBA
Hi there, I have a client in a network using a samba-server that has to use MSDOS, because some software running on it needs a clean DOS. I installed the DOS-Client for TCPIP that is available from Microsoft V 1.0 and it works fine; the only thing is, that it takes so much memory below 640 K, that another program also running under DOS does not function correctly anymore. Maybe some of the

Virtual ethernet delivers corrupt tcpip data
We came across this article recently. Does anyone know if libvirt-lxc under CentOS 7 is impacted by this bug? It mentions that a fix for this has been ported back as far as 3.14 kernels, but CentOS 7.1 is still only at 3.10. http://linux.slashdot.org/story/16/02/22/1715202/linux-virtual-ethernet-bug-delivers-corrupt-tcpip-data

Corosync init-script broken on CentOS6
Hello all, I am trying to create a corosync/pacemaker cluster using CentOS 6.0. However, I'm having a great deal of difficulty doing so. Corosync has a valid configuration file and an authkey has been generated. When I run /etc/init.d/corosync I see that only corosync is started. >From experience working with corosync/pacemaker before, I know that this is not enough to have a functioning

Hi everybody I?d like to resurrect the discussion on a known issue with the openssh server, regarding signal delivery as described in rfc4254 This has been originally reported about ten years ago in this thread: https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1424 I am taking he liberty to copy a few people who contributed that thread over time The discussion does not seem to expose the reasons
