X11forwarding yes: how to debug/setup after xauth fix
I do not often use X11 - but when I do I prefer to enable X11forwarding,
and when finished - turn it off. This is preferable, imho, to having
"clear" X11 processing when local - and otherwise impossible when
working remote.
Working with openssh-7.5p2 I cannot figure out what (extra) I need to do
with sshd_config to get it working.
I know that there is a security-fix starting with

ssh-keyscan non-standard port broken
Hello,
If one passes the -p option for a non-standard port to ssh-keyscan when
using the -f option to pull hosts from a file, it results in a
known_hosts entry that is incorrect:
micah at muck$ cat /tmp/try
199.254.238.47 micah.riseup.net,199.254.238.47
ssh-keyscan -t rsa -p 4422 -f /tmp/try > /tmp/known
micah at muck$ cat /tmp/known

?? memory leak in 3des1
Hello,
quoted patch free's cipher_data malloc'd in calls to EVP_CipherInit() in
ssh1_3des_init(), at least linked with openssl >= 0.9.7. It does not
appear to me (superficial scan) that there is any harm in calling the
_cleanup routine with earlier openssl.

Dovecot pam
Hello!
How can I disable passdb { driver = pam }
in /etc/dovecot/conf.d/auth-system.conf.ext
from file /etc/dovecot/local.conf.
I have postfix and dovecot set up to only use virtual users.
I'd rather do all the configuration in local.conf if possible.

Query regarding initramfs
Hi
I had some doubts regarding what all the init application should do:
>> so, that should that application do?

>> - run-init
1. Of what I understand, before exitting, init should mount the realroot
and execute the init process.
Is realroot the '/' or the empty directory created (in the cpio
archive) ?

issue with openssh-server running in a libvirt based centos virtual machine
Hi,
I have a very strange ssh issue, and I do not know how to solve it.
I have a centos VM (managed by libvirt) running the latest centos 7
and latest openssh server package (debug1: sshd version OpenSSH_7.4,
OpenSSL 1.0.2k-fips 26 Jan 2017).
When I ssh remotely to this centos VM (using latest putty 0.70 and
other ssh clients as well), I do not get a login prompt whatsoever. I
