How to use publickey from x509 certificate?
Hello,
I have the following problem: I want to use publickey authentication by
using the publickey of a x509 certificate stored on a java card. I can
already extract the publickey of the certificate and write it into a
file. The problem i have is that i don't know how to convert the
certificate's publickey into an rsa publickey format that openssh will
accept.
Does anybody have a

smbcontrol reload & close-share not working like previous version
Hello.
I just upgrade my kernel, smbd and changed my smb.conf. (4.14.12-1-Arch" to
"4.14.19-1-lts") "samba 4.7.4-1"
But now, "reload smbd" and "close-share" can not drop connected users to

SSH certificate and serverside ForceCommand
Hi,
We're developing an open source project that uses SSH certificates. We
issue short lived certificates (few minutes) to execute commands on behalf
of users. We have a use case where we need to issue certificates with 10
days validity and store them, so we put a command inside them:
ssh-keygen -s ca-key -I certN -n user -O force-command="wget something" -V
+10d user-key.pub

How dovecot treats UTF8 mailbox names in sieve scripts and `namespace' section
Hello.
I read on upgrading page that one can use UTF8 mailbox names for
plugins. As i understand i do not need to convert UTF8 names to mUTF-7
and can use raw UTF8 in plugins section, e.g.:
/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf
...
plugin {
...
# Autocreate \Spam folder
autocreate = ????
autosubscribe = ????
...
But what about sieve scripts and other configuration sections:
1. Do i need to convert UTF8

rsyncd treats symlinks differently
I have an administrative server that I use to rsync data between two
hosts. It has root access to our fileserver but does not mount
directories using the same paths as a client machine. In some
directories I have symbolic links that are invalid on the admin server,
but valid on a client (due to automounter magic). When I use command
line rsync, all is well. When I converted to using rsyncd,

rsyncd 2.5.6 still treats sysmlinks differently
With much hope I upgraded to rsync version 2.5.6 in hopes that it would
correct the symbolic link bug I have been wrestling with...
No dice. It still insists on dropping the leading slash from a symbolic
link outside the source tree. Interactively it still works fine, but as
a daemon it's busted.
See previous posting 'rsyncd treats symlinks differently' for details.

Bug: as.matrix.data.frame() treats numeric vectors with "levels" attribute as factors
Hello,
I think I've found a bug in as.matrix.data.frame().? The function's
documentation says: "The method for data frames will return a character
matrix if there is only atomic columns and any
non-(numeric/logical/complex) column, applying as.vector to factors and
format to other non-character columns. Otherwise, the usual coercion
hierarchy (logical < integer < double

pdftex treats R pdf figures incorrectly
Hello!
I use R 2.8.1 under Debian GNU/Linux. I've run into a problem
including R pdf figures into LaTeX document. To reproduce:
1) Execute the following minimal R script:
pdf('fig.pdf', family = 'URWTimes', width = 5, height = 5)
plot(rnorm(10), main = '????', xlab = '????????', ylab = '????????')
dev.off()
embedFonts('fig.pdf')

How to set an argument such that a function treats it as missing?
Dear expeRts,
I would like to call a function f from a function g with or without an argument.
I use missing() to check if the argument is given. If it is not given, can I set
it to anything such that the following function call (to f) behaves as if the argument
isn't given? It's probably best described by a minimal example (see below).
The reason why I want to do this is, that I do

dist() {"mva" package} bug: treats +/- Inf as NA
Vince Carey found this (thank you!).
Since the fix to the problem is not entirely obvious, I post
this to R-devel as RFC:
help(dist) says:

gluster peer probe
Hello everyone,
So this is my first email here. Recently I have downloaded glusterfs-3.1 and
tried to install it on my four servers. I did not have any problems with the
installation, but the configuration is a little bit unclear to me. I would
like to ask you, if perhaps you had the same problems as I encountered and
if yes, then how did you resolve your problem ?

can anyone tell me what this message means? I'm running samba-2.0.5a. It
sort of works, I can mount a samba drive from WinNT and run programs stored
on the samba drive, but when I try and open an oracle form file on the samba

BlindDown doesn''t work anymore ?
Hi all !
Bad day for me. Customer calls, and says he can''t add phones and
addresses to his contacts. A bit of looking around confirms the fact.
I track HEAD for scriptaculous, because I need in place editor.
So, a binary search in the scriptaculous repository revealed that r2137
works, and that r2138 and subsequent don''t. I also tried HEAD (r2444),
to no avail.
This is
