[SUSPECTED SPAM] Canonical Link to Reference of "ServerAliveInterval"
What is the canonical link to Reference of "ServerAliveInterval"?
Background: I want to write an answer at serverfault (Q-A Site).
I want to avoid copy+pasting. I would like to lead the new comer
to the canonical reference.

With an OpenSSH 6.2p1 client with stock ssh_config and one of the
following cases:

- I have one or more client keys, but not one of each type
- I don't have an authorized_keys on the server
- I have an authorized_keys on the server, but it does not list any of
the keys I have

ssh_rsa_verify: RSA_verify failed: error:
Host based authentication does not seem to be working for us after
upgrading to openssh-3.4p1 (we were at openssh-3.1p1) (openssl is at
0.96d). Any time we try to connect from another unix box also running
openssh-3.4p1, we get the following error (on the server side) and host
based auth fails (it falls back to password prompt).

Issue with CentOS 4.5 as DomU
Hello list,
I want to virtualize my physical CentOS 4.5 yet. Therefor I download the
CentOS 4.5 iso. After mounting the iso on my notebook and make the mounted
iso available via nfs I start on my CentOS 5 xen machine following command:
virt-install -n myServer --ram=512 -f /virt/myServer.disk -s 150
--nographics -p --location=nfs:nbk:/media/centos
This works for CentOS 5 DomUs but CentOS 4.5

rpmforge, perl-dbd-mysql, yum, priorities, centos, and you
rpmforge has just released a new perl-DBD-mysql for el4 that has an
obsoletes against perl-DBD-MySQL and the protectbase yum plugin doesn't
grok obsoletes. the priorities plugin does. so if you are having issues
with this, install the yum-plugin-priorities first, make sure that the
CentOS-Base repo is priority 1 and the rpmforge repo is priority 2 or
higher (99 is the default).

More oddities with priorities
Following on from my previous, I removed the perl-Date-Manip and re-installed
the Centos base perl-DateManip package.
When I do a "check-update" then it shows nothing needs to be done, but
if I do an "update" then it tries to replace the package!
In the following, c5-local, update-local, rpmforge are local rsync'd
copies of the base, updates and rpmforge repositories.

/etc/yum/pluginconf.d/priorities.conf file disappeared
On 28 July, I changed from ProtectBase to Priorities. I kept unusually
detailed notes that day. Yesterday, when I added the RPMForge respository,
so I could install MPlayer, I found that the
/etc/yum/pluginconf.d/priorities.conf file no longer exists. I'm not sure
how that happened. Question: Is there a way to regenerate that file? TIA

priorities don't prevent other repos overwritting packages?
Either I've made a mistake in my configuration or else packages from
other repos can obsolete core packages
For example, I did a "yum update" on some rpmforge packages and saw this:
Installing:
perl-Date-Manip noarch 5.54-2.el5.rf rpmforge 210 k
replacing perl-DateManip.noarch 5.44-1.2.1
perl-IO-Compress noarch 2.024-1.el5.rf

CentOS 8 and yum-plugin-priorities
Hi,
I've been regularly using the Yum Priorities plugin for the last decade or so.
Apparently it has been obsoleted with CentOS 8.
I've googled around for replacements, and there is some conflicting or
otherwise misleading information about it.
I'm aware the late Yum developer Seth Vidal had a bad opinion of priorities.
This being said, I like the idea of third party repositories

Thank you: Wiki data for adding 3rd party repository, ProtectBase and Priorities
This is a public thank you, to whoever wrote the Wiki's for adding 3rd
party repositories, ProtectBase and Priorities. Clear, excellent, step
by step instructions. I did this late last night and I missed the thing
that Priorities is the recommended plugin, so I will change to that,
from ProtectBase. :-) Lanny

Suggested yum priorities settings for 3rd party repos
In the yum priorities page on the wiki Akemi Yagi suggests
http://wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities
[base], [addons], [updates], [extras] ... priority=1
[centosplus],[contrib] ... priority=2
Third Party Repos ... priority=N (where N is > 10 and
based on your preference)
If you have rpmforge, kbs, epel all set up at 10 then wouldn't
those also potentially overwrite

Yum priorities plugin
Hi All,
I have put the priorities plugin online at:
http://danieldk.org/code/yum/
This plugin allows you to associate priorities to repositories. Packages
from high-priority repositories are protected from being upgraded with
packages from low-priority repositories. Instructions can be found in
the README file, read the part about "check_obsoletes" with care. Please
keep in mind that

redraw priorities
Hey,
I've recently investigated problems Swfdec has when running
cpu-intensive Flash files and could need some suggestions on how to
best fix it. There should be other apps that have had the same problem
after all. During a run of Swfdec (either stand-alone or as part of a
browser), there's the following events happening:
1. write audio
2. user interaction
3. repaint
4. advance the state
