[Bug 1213] ssh-keyscan exits in mid-way
https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1213 --- Comment #57 from Daniel Richard G. <skunk at iSKUNK.ORG> --- Okay, rolling with git master 86936ec2. Now, ssh-keyscan isn't erroring out; instead, it's... hanging. I'm seeing this behavior crop up pretty consistently after running for several minutes. And it's wedged pretty tight, too---nothing happens even after letting

weird issues with DH Group1 key exchange
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, We recently upgraded to OpenSSH 4.2p1 with the chroot patch supplied on sourceforge. Since then, we've noticed odd problems with random client failures. Today I wrote little scripts to keep restarting sshd with the - -ddd flag and finally captured what's going on, I believe. First, openssh is compiled as so: OpenSSH_4.2p1, OpenSSL

OpenSSH stops at "SSH2_MSG_KEX_DH_GEX_GROUP"
Hello! I also post here this messages, maybe it's a bug. I have a problem with Cygwin OpenSSH, I hope somebody can help me out. Since we reinstalled our machine we can't connect any external hosts, but we can connect the gateway server. The same box is when booted up with linux (Debian unstable) just works fine. The problem is, that ssh stops at "expecting

[QUESTION] how to auto-exec cmd when login
Sorry, this post is neither for patch not for bug reporting. I just want to ask a question. Requirement: --- User want to login to a server(which has a chroot environment) by ssh. And when user login to the server, sshd will automatically make the login account to chroot first, and user can only use that chroot env. --- I know we have a ChrootDirectory feature in current development tree. But on

OpenSSH 4.3p2 on Solaris 10 and PAM
Hi, We have a Solaris 10 system that authanticates users against an LDAP server with password management. On port 22 runs Sun SSH 1.1. On port 2222 runs OpenSSH 4.3p2. OpenSSH uses a configuration from a Linux system where login with password or public key works. Adittionally we have a customized PAM module that grants/revokes access based upon an attribute setting in LDAP. The PAM

exit status of ssh?
The man page for ssh says that the exit status of ssh should be the exit status of the program that it runs. The session terminates when the command or shell on the remote machine exits and all X11 and TCP/IP connections have been closed. The exit sta? tus of the remote program is returned as the exit status of ssh. ... ssh exits with the exit status of the remote command or with 255 if an error

root can login to console but not via ssh
Hi, I built OpenSSH 7.7p1-1 to try to include some security fixes for an old OS version (SLES 10). We use a special PAM module for root to allow us to provide auto-expiring passwords. There is, however, one root password that should always work. root can login just fine on the console, which I assume means that the PAM module is working correctly because I can use both the always should work

chroot support for ssh and sftp
List, I'm current running an older, patched version of OpenSSH with chroot support (OpenSSH_4.2-chrootsshp1). It's the chrootssh patch that James Dennis has been providing. I checked back lately and found that even with the portable OpenSSH source currently at 4.7p1, James doesn't have anything newer than 4.5p1. I'd like to upgrade so I tried my hand at implementing the patch

Problems using sftp on HMC IBM system
Hello friends, I am having some problems using sftp to reach a HMC IBM system. The connection is suddenly closed and I don't why. Actually I don't know exactly how to read all these debug information. I would be very glad with any help on this topic. Here is the full debug output provided from the command execution: otubo at phoenix ~ $ sftp -vvv hscroot at skiper Connecting to

Linux 4.2p1 crash during reverse name lookup
4.0p1 and 4.2p1 are affected for me, I'm using Linux based around a FC2 build (~2 years old). I'm trying to login with password authentication from psftp.exe (part of PuTTY) but it. Maybe this bug isn't with OpenSSH itself but a supporting library, I would appreciate your assistance in tracking down the problem. I have tried getting a 'core' file out of SSH with

bug(?) with OpenSSH 4.4+ and large DSA ID keys
Please pardon me if this is the wrong place, or operator error/ retardation is involved. Any help is sincerely appreciated. fatal: mm_request_receive_expect: read: rtype 12 != type 24 For some reason, three (two OpenBSD/i386 and one OpenBSD/sparc64) of my four identically-configured SSH daemons cough up the above error when I try to authenticate using a big (4096-bit) DSA key from the

Problems using gssapi authentication from FreeBSD to Linux machines
Hi all, I'm really struggling with getting Kerberos authentication to work between a FreeBSD host and a Linux host. I'm using the latest 6- STABLE code on the FreeBSD box, I've got forwardable Kerberos tokens (verified with "klist -f") and Kerberos and ssh are working fine in all other ways, but I can't get the Linux box to accept the Kerberos ticket as
