Question about ssh-rsa deprecation notice (was: Announce: OpenSSH 8.2 released)
I am trying to understand the details of the deprecation notice. Because I am getting people asking me questions. And I don't know the answer. Therefore I am pushing the boulder uphill and asking here. :-) Damien Miller wrote: > Future deprecation notice > ========================= > > It is now possible[1] to perform chosen-prefix attacks against the > SHA-1 algorithm for

Hi, OpenSSH 9.4 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing on as many platforms and systems as possible. This is a bugfix release. Snapshot releases for portable OpenSSH are available from http://www.mindrot.org/openssh_snap/ The OpenBSD version is available in CVS HEAD: http://www.openbsd.org/anoncvs.html Portable OpenSSH is also available via git using the instructions at

Status of Rails.application.routes.recognize_path()
Sorry if this question isn''t really "Ruby on Rails: Core" material. I feel it is, at least kind-of (also, I first tried asking in "Ruby on Rails: Talk" to no avail.). So, while writing a gem (engine) for rails, I found that I needed to have my app (in a pre-filter) directly query the router. In the "old" days, this was done using

Testing of recent commits
There have been a few recent commits to portable OpenSSH that require testing. It would be appreciated if you could grab the 20031118 (or later) snapshot and give it a try on your platforms of choice. Ideally, "giving it a try" means running the regress tests, in addition to casual (non-production) use and reporting your experiences back to the list. The more platforms and compile-time

Future deprecation of ssh-rsa
For the last few releases, there has been a notice that ssh-rsa will be deprecated in a near-future release. Is there a target release for this deprecation to take effect? I saw in the 8.4 release notes that?UpdateHostKeys is going to be default enabled in the next release to prepare for this. Is it likely that 8.6 will deprecate ssh-rsa after a release cycle of UpdateHostKeys being default or are

History plugin
Hello, I felt annoyed enough when having to redirect user back to their previous location in a hackish way that I wrote this plugin. It avoids storing POST and Ajax request. It also has a facility to specify actions not to store in the history. If you are interested, it''s there: http://blog.cosinux.org/pages/rails-history See you all, Damien -- Damien MERENNE

New snapshot
I have just uploaded a new snapshot to: http://www.mindrot.org/misc/openssh/openssh-SNAP-20001114.tar.gz This snapshot includes Markus Friedl's new SSH2 RSA authentication work and -R portforwarding for SSH2. Please give these a good test. The new RSA authentications works similar to the current SSH2 DSA keys, but requires a little modification to config files. Currently RSA key cannot be

[LLVMdev] Status of Ocaml bindings
Hi all, I'm interested in the LLVM Ocaml bindings so I pulled the current sources from SVN and built them. When I ran the test suite I got the following stats: # of expected passes 2631 # of unexpected failures 7 # of expected failures 11 It looks like some of the failures were due to the Ocaml parts of the tests: FAIL:

Login Patch
Please excuse me for mailing you directly instead of using the 'sendbug' facility; it seems to be an OpenBSD-only facility, and I didn't see a bug-tracking interface on the web site. I know the "UseLogin" feature is deprecated (to some degree, at any rate), however, on a Red Hat 6.2-based system, it is broken, because ssh.h statically defines LOGIN_PROGRAM as /usr/bin/login,
