[PATCH 0/2] Fix Memory Management Issue in `ssh-sk-helper` with External SK Libraries
Hi,
Sometimes, users might find that the `ssh-sk-helper` crashes after
enrolling a new key when using external SK libraries.
Currently, the memory returned by SK APIs is freed by the host, but
external libraries may have their own methods of handling memory. For
instance some external libraries are linked against a foreign libc
statically. As a result, the `ssh-sk-helper` would have issues if

Incomplete attestation data for FIDO2 SKs?
I was recently looking at verifying the attestation data
(ssh-sk-attest-v00) for a SK key, but I believe the data saved in this
structure is insufficient for completing verification of the attestation.
While the structure has enough information for U2F devices, FIDO2 devices
sign their attestation over a richer "authData" blob [1] (concatenated with
the challenge hash). The authData blob

[PATCH] Simplify code with freezero
The freezero call is practically the same as calling explicit_bzero
followed by free.
Okay?

This can be caught with -Wpedantic, which seems to catch a few more
instances of this, as well as passing non-void pointers to printf for
the `%p` format specifier. Patches attached for these.
However, it also catches

[PATCH 1/3] Add private key protection information extraction to ssh-keygen
Add private key protection information extraction to shh-keygen using -v
option on top of -y option which is already parsing the private key.
Technically, the passphrase isn't necessary to do this, but it is the
most logical thing to do for me.
Adding this to -l option is not appropriate because fingerprinting is
using the .pub file when available.
An other idea is to add a new option, I

rw0632 makes stray .Rhistory orphans
If you start Rterm/Rgui from the cmd (NT4.4) command line, the .Rhistory and
.RData files are created/used in the current directory.
I think, R should honor HOME or even the USERPROFILE variable.

Karl
PS: is this the correct list for such reports or would it be better to use
r-devel?

reading a text file with a stray carriage return
Hi,
I'm hoping someone has a suggestion for handling a simple problem. A
client gave me a comma separated value file (call it x.csv) that has
an id and name and address for about 25,000 people (25,000 records).
I used read.table to read it, but then discovered that there are stray
carriage returns on several records. This plays havoc with read.table
since it starts a

SUGGESTION: Proposal to mitigate problem with stray processes left behind by parallel::makeCluster()
The problem causing the stray worker processes when the master fails to
open a server socket to listen to connections from workers is not
related to timeout in socketConnection(), because socketConnection()
will fail right away. It is caused by a bug in checking the setup
timeout (PR 17391).
Fixed in 76275.

SUGGESTION: Proposal to mitigate problem with stray processes left behind by parallel::makeCluster()
(Bcc: CRAN)
This is a proposal helping CRAN and alike as well as individual
developers to avoid stray R processes being left behind that might be
produced when an example or a package test fails to set up a
parallel::makeCluster().
ISSUE
If a package test sets up a PSOCK cluster and then the master process
dies for one reason or the other, the PSOCK worker processes will
remain running for 30
