Unhelpful error message when matching hosts in access list [PATCH]
Greetings,
As previously reported by me to the Debian bug tracking system:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
An access list in rsyncd.conf may contain hostnames as well as
addresses. It may contain several patterns to match against.
address_match (in access.c) does this by trying to match hostname and
address against each of the patterns until a match is

Questions about Searching
Hi,
I have some questions about searching with Ferret. I have a user
index with first_name, last_name and full_name (which is just first
plus last with a space).
Here are a couple of questions:
1) If I store the fields tokenized, it appears as though queries are
case-insensitive. However, for untokenized, the query is
case-sensitive. How can I make the untokenized searches
case-insensitive?

Disabling host key checking on LAN
If I want to specify for LAN addresses that I don't want to deal with host
keys, how do I do that? Understanding the risks, knowing almost everyone
will say not to do this - it's a horrible idea, but deciding I want to do
it anyway. Tired of having to remove entries from known_hosts with the
multiple VM's I have that often change fingerprints, and am willing to live
with the risks.

Help Getting Postfix relaying via Gmail
Hi,
I am trying to get a CentOS 6 system relaying mail via my G-Mail account.
I followed the instructions found at
https://www.zulius.com/how-to/set-up-postfix-with-a-remote-smtp-relay-host/but
there seems to be a problem with authentication. I have done some
research but still can't get this working. Any suggestions ? It seems the
user and password are correct.

mailboxcasecmp()
I remember way back, i'd modified the dspam training plugin to compare
mailbox names case-insensitively. that patch wasn't accepted. i didn't
understand why since it was obviously correct and had no negative
impact, at least i didn't think so.
Now I've hit another case where case-insensitive mailbox names would
be useful: +addressing.
If I have a mailbox 'Ext' and I

Bug: Shared Mailbox - Case Sensitivity
Hi,
unfortunately I found a bug in Dovecot's ACL handling for shared
mailboxes. It turns out Dovecot doesn't enforce lower casing the
privileged username to whom the mailbox should be shared to. This
results in a invalid configuration. Users get confused, since they
passed on a valid email address in their ACL setup.

Feedback regarding the ssh(1) Match directive
Hi,
I noticed the recent commit adding Match support to ssh(1). I look
forward to giving it a try, but I have some initial feedback based on
ssh_config.5 and an examiniation of match_cfg_line().
First, the "command" keyword could be a little deceptive. Although the
man page makes the use of this keyword quite clear, my initial
assumption was that the intent was to match against the

Feature request/EOI: Match interactive config?
Hey there,
I often want different behavior in my ssh client depending on whether I'm logging into an interactive session or running a remote non-interactive command. We can see at, say, https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/499562/305714 that this isn't a unique wish, and existing solutions are kind of baroque. Typical reasons to do this are to immediately go into a screen or tmux session; for

strip realms and force lowercasing of usernames?
Is it possible for dovecot to strip realms and force lowercasing of usernames?
We have a lot of dumb customers who try logging in to pop3 with crap like
UsERNAmE and bla at nonexistentdomain.com. All our usernames are lowercase
and we have no realms. Trying to get hundreds of customers to fix this is
hard and is a significant and costly support burden.
It would be nice if dovecot could handle
