Posting list encoding improvements - pfd encoding & var len encoding comparison program
Hi all,
I wrote a program that implement the variable length encoding and fixed
length encoding, and compares their index size and speed of search doc
length.
You can see the comparison result from the attachment snapshot.
1. The posting list is in all memory;
2. The search strategy of fixed length encoding is skipping with
exponential step (1, 2, 4, 8, ...). Once exceeds the desired doc id, back

Proof of concept for GPU forwarding for Linux guest on Linux host.
Hi,
This is a proof of concept of GPU forwarding for Linux guest on Linux host.
I'd like to get comments and suggestions from community before I put more
time on it. To summarize what it is:
1. It's a solution to bring GPU acceleration for Linux vm guest on Linux host.
It could works with different GPU although the current proof of concept only
works with Intel GPU.
2. The basic idea

[PATCH 001/001] Add UFS1/2 support to Extlinux installer.
It's needed to enumerate both UFS1/2 since they have different magic numbers
and super block offsets.
Besides, UFS2 can be installed in the 0-64k range like BTRFS, whereas
UFS1 can't.

[PATCH RFC 1/5] vringfd syscall
For virtualization, we've developed virtio_ring for efficient communication.
This would also work well for userspace-kernel communication, particularly
for things like the tun device. By using the same ABI, we can join guests
to the host kernel trivially.
These patches are fairly alpha; I've seen some network stalls I have to
track down and there are some fixmes.
Comments welcome!

openssh 5.2p1 fails to build on IRIX 5.3
Hello,
I ran into a few problems when trying to build openssh 5.2p1 on IRIX 5.3.
First one is new to 5.2p1:
cc -I. -I. -I/usr/tgcware/include/openssl -I/usr/tgcware/include
-DSSHDIR=\"/usr/tgcware/etc/ssh\"
-D_PATH_SSH_PROGRAM=\"/usr/tgcware/bin/ssh\"

[nbdkit PATCH 0/2] stdin/out cleanups
This is what I've been playing with in response to my earlier question
about what to do with 'nbdkit -s sh -'
I'm still open to ideas on a better name, and/or whether adding
<stdbool.h> to our public include files is a good idea (if not,
returning int instead of bool is tolerable).

Test snapshot
I have just tarred up a snapshot and uploaded it to:
http://www.mindrot.org/misc/openssh/openssh-SNAP-20000823.tar.gz
The snapshot incorporates the last month's fixes and enhancements from
the openssh-unix-dev mailing list and from the OpenBSD developers.
In particular:
- ssh-agent and ssh-add now handle DSA keys. NB. this does not interop
with ssh.com's ssh-agent. (Markus Friedl)
