scp -L option
Hi there, I have a need to have scp pass the -P option to ssh to "bypass" the packetfilters that doesn't allow connections to return to arbitary "priviledged" ports, ie. ports <1024. See attached context sensitive diffs against 2.2.0p1 to please integrate. Thanx Hendrik Visage -------------- next part -------------- *** 1.1 2000/10/11 13:31:45 --- scp.c 2000/10/11

[OpenSSH] sample line about ForwardX11 in ssh_config file is not fit to default setting
Hi OpenSSH developers I use OpenSSH under FreeBSD. It's cool and useful for me. By the way, sample line of ForwardX11 in ssh_config was not fit for default setting in readconf.c. I want to change ssh_config. ---------- In ssh source (src/usr.bin/ssh/readconf.c), currently ForwardX11 is disabled. 731 if (options->forward_x11 == -1) 732

Equivalent ssh_config setting for "ssh -N"
Oops. That's -T. From the man page, it doesn't really look like there's an ssh_config option for -N. -----Original Message----- From: openssh-unix-dev [mailto:openssh-unix-dev-bounces+scott_n=xypro.com at mindrot.org] On Behalf Of Scott Neugroschl Sent: Tuesday, August 09, 2016 1:04 PM To: Volker Diels-Grabsch; openssh-unix-dev at mindrot.org Subject: RE: Equivalent ssh_config

Command-based ssh_config declarations
How difficult would it be to enhance the client ssh_config file to allow command-based declarations similar to that provided by the "Host" keyword? The main reason I need something like this is when ssh is used via CVS and Subversion. I want all CVS/Subversion traffic to use a different SSH port and different authentication options. So... you might have an ssh_config file that

Changing only file permissions
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Normally, I would say that --checksum is actually slower than just letting rsync re-copy everything and therefore is almost always the wrong thing to do. However, in this case, you really don't want to overwrite the running OS even with files that are essentially the same. So, if the system is running from that storage then --checksum might

What is the ssh_config equivalent to this syntax involving multiple at signs
My company uses a certain product which forces me to use a jumphost / ssh proxy. When connecting to a server I have to type "ssh myuser at technicaluser@targethost at jumphost" everytime. I tried to simplify this by editing my ssh_config and putting this into the file: Host targethost ProxyJump technicaluser at jumphost These lines are recognized but don't work like intended

openssh-2.0beta ssh_config Protocol parsing error.
Hello all, It seems that openssh-2.0beta's ssh doesn't parse /etc/ssh/ssh_config (or equivalent) properly. If I add e.g. 'Protocol 2,1' there, ssh will just complain '/etc/ssh/ssh_config line 30: garbage at end of line.'. I've tried changing the line, etc. but the error remains. True enough, README.openssh2 only mentions ~/.ssh/config, but IMO this must have been an

.ssh_config forwarding
Hi guys, I was wondering about having ssh-agent also forward the ssh_config in addition to the private keys. This would be helpful, when you have a lot of host file definitions in your .ssh_config. Kind regards, //Logan C-x-C-c -- This message is strictly personal and the opinions expressed do not represent those of my employers, either past or present.

[PATCH] Enable ssh_config to set LogPath option (-E)
ssh client has the ability to set the destination of debug logs via the `-E` flag. ssh_config lacks an equivalent keyword to set the same option via configs. This patch follows the same semantics of other `*Path` type keywords and creates a new ssh_config keyword `LogPath`. [0] Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3683 [1] GitHub PR:

OpenSSH socket forwarding in ssh_config file?
The ssh command line's -L option has supported socket forwarding for a while, but as far as I can tell the ssh_config file does not, even in 7.9. Is this planned? Or is there some reason this isn't reasonable? Oris there some syntax I've missed? Cheers, Cameron Simpson <cs at cskk.id.au>
