[LLVMdev] Some MCJIT benchmark numbers
So I finally took the plunge and switched to MCJIT (wasn't too bad, as long as you remember to call InitializeNativeTargetDisassembler if you want disassembly...), and I got the functionality to a point I was happy with so I wanted to test perf of the system. I created a simple benchmark and I'd thought I'd share the results, both because I know I personally had no idea what the

[LLVMdev] Some MCJIT benchmark numbers
The pass manager is re-created in emitObject on every call. Andy, is that needed or can we create the PM in MCJIT constructor and keep it around? [LLVMdev] Assert in LiveInterval update
Lang, I think I am getting closer to understanding this. The findLastUseBefore() should probably look something like this: // Return the last use of reg between NewIdx and OldIdx. SlotIndex findLastUseBefore(unsigned Reg, SlotIndex OldIdx) { SlotIndex LastUse = NewIdx; if (TargetRegisterInfo::isPhysicalRegister(Reg)) { for (MCRegUnitRootIterator Roots(Reg,

[LLVMdev] Assert in LiveInterval update
Hi Sergei, I just fixed the broken test case for PR13719 with r163107, but from the debugging output you've posted it suspect it won't fix your test case. Your analysis looks good - findLastUseBefore(..) doesn't appear to be handling physregs. I'm surprised that isn't causing more failures. I'll see if I can find a failing case in the LLVM test-suite (it's been a

CentOS-5.10 Sendmail STARTTLS error
This morning I discovered this in the logwatch report for our external MX backup host. [LLVMdev] Trying to use patchpoint in MCJIT
patchpoint is intended to be used in VMs that do their own linking, and so you wouldn't expect the function parameter to be resolved by LLVM. Presumably, in VMKit, you could just plant a pointer constant to the function you wish to call initially? -Filip On Dec 17, 2013, at 2:42 PM, Gaël Thomas <gael.thomas00 at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi all, > > I'm trying to play with

Assertion fail/crash in X86FrameLowering::GetFrameIndexReference SEH
Hi, I'm gettign an assertion fail/crash in X86FrameLowering::GetFrameIndexReference when compiling the following bitcode: https://gist.github.com/carlokok/868cddebeb9acc8ccbac6253de0480b0 I tried removing the llvm.frameaddres calls but that's not it, where can I start looking for what my mistake here is? Code seems to verify just fine. ; #0 0x00e1afe8

[LLVMdev] Trying to use patchpoint in MCJIT
Hi all, I'm trying to play with patchoint (with MCJIT and VMKit) and I don't understand something. I generate this call for my first patch point. Basically, I want to call f(0). %5 = call i64 (i64, i32, i8*, i32, ...)* @llvm.experimental.patchpoint.i64( i64 42, ;; patch point id is 42 i32 0, ;; 0 bytes for the padding i8* bitcast (i32 (i32)* @f to i8*), ;; my function f i32 1,

Hello, I have implemented a pass to count total number of instructions in LLVM 8.0. Its source code is attached here. The pass runs fine with LLVM 4.0. But with LLVM 8.0 following error is shown; $ $LLVMopt_BIN/opt -load $LLVM_SO/LLVMStatic-Info.so -one output-simple.bc WARNING: You're attempting to print out a bitcode file. Assertion fail/crash in X86FrameLowering::GetFrameIndexReference SEH
I think r262546 introduced the assumption that allocas are used exactly once with catchpad. It seems easy to fix, though. a2billing problem with call duration
Regards! During the use of areski a2billing software I'm getting same problem all the time. Actually, after 15 minutes of speaking to someone over calling card, connection brakes. Installation was as smooth as it could be so I don't think I made same kind of a mess in that domain. This is the only problem in the aplication. In the logs everything seems to be fine. Help with pass manager
The problems happens because PMTopLevelManager::findAnalysisPassInfo(AnalysisID AID) returns nullptr in PMTopLevelManager::addImmutablePass(ImmutablePass *P). This because PassRegistry::getPassRegistry()->getPassInfo(AID) call in it returns nullptr as well. Should I probably register the pass I want to add with PassRegistry::registerPass(const PassInfo &PI, bool ShouldFree) ? I didn’t do it

Help with pass manager
Passes all need to be initialized before they are added into a pass manager.
