[LLVMdev] Enable debug for MSP430
Hi Gents,
For those of us with out-of-tree backends which are not 32bit, the msp430 backend is a useful vehicle for examining changes and testing out ideas.
So I was wondering about enabling debug output on the MSP430 backend so that I can illustrate a few issues to Adrian and you on the variable pieces side. (there doesn't appear to be any specific person claiming the msp430 code right

[LLVMdev] How to set constant pool section?
Hi,
In the document: http://llvm.org/docs/WritingAnLLVMBackend.html
described example like:
SparcTargetAsmInfo::SparcTargetAsmInfo(const SparcTargetMachine &TM) {
Data16bitsDirective = "\t.half\t";
Data32bitsDirective = "\t.word\t";
Data64bitsDirective = 0; // .xword is only supported by V9.
ZeroDirective = "\t.skip\t";
CommentString = "!";

[LLVMdev] arm64 / iOS support
Attached is a working patch set for llvm to be able to emit arm64
(currently as triple aarch64-apple-ios) mach-o object files, in case
someone is interested. I'm not sure if the llvm maintainers want the
patch given the previous message that there's going to be an official
patch set from apple to support this, but here is mine.
What works (tested on an iPhone 5S):
* objc strings,

Evan:
Sorry for the late follow up, I was out of town last week.

[LLVMdev] llc and Assembler Location Control Directives
I want to locate the module in llc that produces the assembler
location control directives which are seen in the .s output file, so
that I can modify it. I suspect these are not target-specific, and
therefore are probably not in ./src/lib/Target/[mytarg], but I may be
wrong. I'm fairly new to all this, so any pointers as to where I
should be looking help a great deal.
As an example, the

[LLVMdev] [NVPTX] For linkonce_odr NVPTX generates .weak, but even newest PTXAS can't handle it
Dear LLVM NVPTX maintainers,
Just to have the issue recorded, I don't know how important it is:
clang generates linkonce_odr out of __inline__, and NVPTX generates .weak
out of linkonce_odr (how it happens - a big question, btw, because I can't
find anything related in NVPTX asm printer - does it chain to some other
printer?), and finally ptxas (both 4.2 and 5) fails to compile it to
