Bug#554805: patch to enable routed networking in HVM+ioemu
tag 554805 + patch
thanks
The problem to solve is that qemu-ifup assumes the world is always
bridged, and vif-routed does not know of the concept of TAP devices, and
even if it did, it has at this point no way to get at qemu's TAP device
anyway.
The following set of patches help run in the ioemu-HVM situation:
* xend-image.py.diff : modifies the HVM loader so that when running in

HVM support to be removed from Debian Squeeze: call for volunteers
[message cross posted to the pkg-xen and xen-devel list]
Dear everyone,

is packaging Xen in Debian -, has decided last summer that he doesn't
want to deal with the qemu-dm of Xen, thus removing Xen Qemu and support
for HVM in Debian. Here is what he wrote:

Building xen-qemu-dm-4.0 (2nd attempt, please reply)
Hi,
I'm trying to solve this one:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=615797
As much as I can tell, and unless I have missed something, the issue is
a missing -lpulse in the Makefile.target (see attached diff file that
fixes the issue).
While my patch makes it compile again, I fear that I'm not doing well,
and that there must be a better way to fix, that would take care of

Bastian, can you confirm the problem with "xm new" (instead of "xm create") ?

Bug#588888: boot="d" does not boot from CD
I have followed this bug report only to wind up in a similar predicament.
The Error: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'rfind' was fixed by installing xen-qemu-dm-4.0.
However the same configuration issue (trying to boot the guest from a CD) with the 'boot' option exists for me too.
Your configuration looks good unless I've missed something.

Package: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64
Version: 4.4.1-3
Severity: important
Hi,
I have some domUs with two network interfaces, eth0 and eth1. eth0 is
not configured in /etc/network/interfaces and so is not brought up at
boot time.
eth0 is on the host's external network bridge and eth1 is on the host's
local network bridge.
On dom0 I get messages like 'vif vif-10-0 vif10.0: draining TX

I'm using a tarball from
http://bits.xensource.com/oss-xen/release/4.1.0/xen-4.1.0.tar.gz
It seems Thomas used the tools/ioemu-qemu-xen subdirectory as source for
xen-qemu-dm. At a first glance I didn't notice
debian/mypatches/add-rules.patch: it adds Rules.mk from the tools

I think it should be interesting to correct this bug into Lenny. Perhaps the
severity of this bug should be set to "normal" instead of "wishlist" ?

Thanks Mike and Thomas for clarifying the issue.
The reason I picked Critical was because of it's "description"...
The part that applied to me was "makes unrelated software on the system (or the whole system)
break" when i loose network connectivity, to me, that is broken.
In my case, the severity comes from a business standpoint. I manage the servers and someone else

Remus
Hi everyone
I've installed package xen-hypervisor-4.0-i386 (and related) on debian squeeze, using the available debian packages.
According to the Remus website http://nss.cs.ubc.ca/remus/ and xen websites, remus (binary) should be available since xen 4.0.1.
I can't find the binary though.
I have installed:
