Found this solution. It is maybe not the most elegant way, but it does the
job.

convert Factor as numeric
Dear group,
I know this issue has been already covered, and before you reply I must say
I have read the R-FAQ and search the mailing list archive.
I still can't manage to change my factor to numeric as I couldn't find any
clear answer.
Here is my df :

[FORGED] Error occurring in "emmeans" package for the two data sets I used. Please help.
Thanks for your kind reply. Problem is solved. However, it's "confidence
interval / treatment comparison plot" is not taking main title. And the
fonts of axes labels can not be changed using 'cex' parameter. I will
appreciate if you could help in this matter too.

Splitting a set of vectors in a list
I have a set of character vectors of uneven length
that I have stored in a list. I can easily enough get
any column of them using lapply but what I want is to
be able to create a matrix of them. Other than some
kind of brute force looping approach I have drawn a
blank.
Would somebody please suggest something? Thanks
Example.

gstat 0.9-12: cokriging cross validation and class name incompatibilities
I uploaded gstat 0.9-12 to CRAN, which has a few important changes:
1. Cokriging cross validation
Cokriging cross validation is now possible with the function gstat.cv:
you simply pass a multivariable gstat object, and cross validation is done
for the first variable in the object. Optionally, secondary variable
records
at locations coinciding with the validation locations are removed.

new gstat version
Soon on CRAN a new version of package gstat will emerge, which
has a few minor changes and possible incompatibilities w.r.t. the
previous version(s).
The new gstat (0.9-23) now:
+ depends on sp, and uses internally with Spatial* classes from sp
if data are provided in the old-fashoned way (as data.frame)
+ has a vignette to get you started with the classes in sp
+ defines krige as a generic;

Building a time series.
I have a need to build a time series and there are a couple of aspects about the time series object that are confusing me. First it seems that ts.union is not doing what I would expect. For example:
x0 <- rep(0,10)
x1 <- rep(1,10)
xt0 <- ts(x0, frequency=10)
xt1 <- ts(x1, frequency=10)
st2 <- ts.union(xt0, xt1)
> xt2
Time Series:
Start = c(1, 1)
End = c(1, 10)
Frequency = 10
