Power race? with Eaton 5E and how to auto-mute beeper
A final note:
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2014-April/008977.html
That message talks about the Eaton Nova AVR which on the Eaton 5E
product page it says the 5E replaces the Nova. Do they perhaps share
hardware/firmware?

USB device descriptor read error with Eaton 5E UPS
Hi,
I recently purchased a new Easton 5E UPS. I plugged the USB cable into
my computer so I could use the NUT UPS tools. However every so often
NUT fails to connect to the device after a boot.
Looking at dmesg I see errors like this:
[ 3.277075] usb 1-9: new low-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd
[ 3.302091] usb 1-9: device descriptor read/8, error -32

The bash script you are using is only meant to be used with a self
compiled version of Samba, where everything is meant to be
in /usr/local/samba
You will find a better script here:

[IMPORTANT BUGFIX][ACM][XM] FIX essential security check in block-attach / indentation problem introduced in change set changeset 11572
This patch fixes an indentation error in main.py. The effect of this bug
is that block-attach does not check labels if the ACM is active. This
bug slipped in with change set 11572_:_ ad22c711ccb7
<http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-unstable.hg?cs=ad22c711ccb7>.
This patch is essential and should get into 3.0.3. I tested the patch
with security off and on.

IPC$ service
We use samba purely as for file serving from Solaris 7 or 8 servers. THE
PDC and BDCs are NT machines. We have been using Samba 2.0.7, but used
2.2.5 for a new server. One noticeable difference is that smbstatus lists a
number of entries "IPC$ nobody nobody" which we did not see in
2.0.7. Is this normal in 2.2.5 or something I should be ivestigating?
Eg

How to make t.test handle "NA" and "essentially constant values" ?
Hi,
First problem:
> test <- matrix(c(1,1,2,1), 2,2)
> apply(test, 1, function(x) { t.test(x) $p.value })
Error in t.test.default(x) : data are essentially constant
Second problem:
> test <- matrix(c(1,0,NA,1), 2,2)
> apply(test, 1, function(x) { t.test(x) $p.value })
Error in t.test.default(x) : not enough 'x' observations
How to make t-test ignores this errors ?
