NUT & UPS, how to shut down client after 2 min on battery?
Hi! Some systems I have take some time to shut down, so I would like them to shut down if the UPS have been on battery for 2 minutes. Internet has told me that SHUTDOWNCMD ?/sbin/shutdown -h +0? in /etc/nut/upsmon.conf will execute when the UPS is both OB (on battery) and LB (Low battery). Plexus UPS on a QNAP NAS
Hi, Has anyone managed to get a Plexus UPS talking to their NAS. I've followed the excellent instructions here http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=182 <http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=182&t=35970&start=0> &t=35970&start=0 but I'm not there yet. When I manually start upsdrvctl without the UPS plugged in I get [~] # /usr/bin/upsdrvctl start Network UPS

setting up CYBERPOWER CP1500PFCLCD
Hi, Another beginner question. I spend hours trying to find the solution for how to configure winnut properly but I' struggling to make it work. I want my QNAP NAS TS-231 to work as a master and send signal to the PC to shut it down during power outage. I configured QNAP properly (like this: http://geekbeat.tv/qnap-adding-external-devices-qnap), but I don't know what to do next. I work

nut proxy setup?
I've searched for quite some time and read the FAQ, but to no avail. I have a UPS connected to a NAS. Unfortunately I have to specify every single client IP (ups slave), because the stupid NAS system (QNAP) does not allow me to set a /16 or /24. Changing the config files manually does not work either, because the service won't come up anymore. (One has to love QNAP at this point.) Thus I

That was actually just a one-off mistake in making a simple example to post. The errors are the same even with the correct "@localhost". I will look into whether there's a backport to 12.04, as

Hi all. UPS is Eaton 5SC 500i. I tested three solutions: 1. swap "usbhid-ups -a qnapups" with "usbhid-ups -a qnapups -k" Result: server shutdown, but ups does not shut off! 2. run prog with params "upsmon -c fsd" Result: server shutdown, but ups does not shut off! 3. run prog "upscmd -u name -p passwd qnapups shutdown.return" and next

Powerware USB issue solved (bcmxcp_usb)
Hi Greg, Thomas and the list, I've not forgotten you nor your issue. It just took some time to gather a "faulty" unit and a bit of time to reproduce your issue. The good news is that I've commited a fix to the NUT development branch (aka Subversion), in the release r2015. The bad news is that your test and feedback is welcome ;-) For more info on getting and compiling the

APCsmart serial port problem
I have a new APC Smart-UPS SUA2200RM2U. I've had no success with the manufacturer's PowerChute software and smart signaling, so I have decided to try NUT. The smartups driver can't make contact through the serial port. Since this is rack-mounted, it comes with a 940-1524 serial cable. As far as I can tell, this is supposed to work with smart signaling. Here's my ups.conf:

Problem with ups-dummy driver (repeater mode)
Hi, I have a NUT client that requires the UPS it monitors to be named "ups". The client (a Synology NAS) does not provide a method to change this configuration. My setup consists of multiple UPSes monitored by a single master and I'd rather not have 1/4 UPSes named `ups` while the other 3/4 are named something descriptive and helpful for administration. I think I should be able

Can this be done with NUT? (ordered shutdown, revisited)
Good morning everyone, we're currently in the process of redesigning our UPS signalling scheme, and decided to have a closer look at NUT. This is our setup: - a (really) big UPS (Piller, with a web/SNMP interface) - several computer rooms with equipment of different importance, managed by several people not sharing ssh keys etc., with an unknown number of machines - IPMI signalling to
